i hope to sell the mast boom standing rigging etc the new mast and tabernacle will be wood, varnished tan bark lugsail hull painted dark green don't care about the resale maybe a good way to end it all would be to just sail into oblivion have a friend that has gone into the late stages of alheimers in less than a month i want to die broke and broken thanks for your thought what do you think of starting the ob w/ high torque portable drill??? thanks g

If you do this, you should understand that it'll probably hurt the resale value of the boat, but I'm guessing that's not too big a concern. If you could somehow re-rig it so that it could be returned to stock, you'd be better off. I wouldn't chop up the mast, in other words. He sent me photos of his installtion a couple of years ago. Pretty straight forward. He had to do quite alot of bracing to make it happen. I think the biggest concern is where to put the mast for ballance concerns. And if I recall he glassed in a tube which the mast slid in to. want to make mods to a m 17 to make it easier for an old guy want to convert to a balance lug...approx 143 sqft no standing rigging mast pinned in tall tabernacle just pivot it up motor will be a 7.5 honda 4 stroke this will be a motor sailor of sorts know this might be heresy for somne but...too many friends have died this year not realizing even a small part of their hopes/dreams so...am at the dgas stage even if you don't agree please share your toughts looking forward to interesting dialogue also have a venture 24 am pallning to part out or will sell cheap but no trailer holp[help and hope] g
