http://www.discogs.com/KLF-America-What-Time-Is-Love-Justified-And-Ancient/r... What's the deal with this one? As far as I know the majority haven't got the Libération sticker on the PVC sleeve. It's pressed using the same stampers as the normal 12"'s so I take it that it's an official KLF product. Pete Robinson lists the quantity to 4000 and Lazlo Nibble to 2000 copies. Anyone know anything more about it? /Hans
I know the actual picture disc is real, and even saw it playing in a recent music video a few years back. I believe this disc was either sold or given away in a promotion in France. Not sure about the liberation sticker. Sent from my iPhone On Jul 13, 2012, at 12:23 PM, Hans Hedman <ravekommissionen@gmail.com> wrote:

I have this one, but without sticker. In fact, I have never seen stickered version. But I think you're right with promotion. Although discogs says that it's Dance Pool, I still believe that this is KLF Comms release as it was pressed with original KLF Comms plates. -- anttil.
I too have a copy of this on Picture Disc, currently kept safe in storage. Not sure if mine has the Sticker but will check next week. Sent from my iPhone On 14 Jul 2012, at 06:58, Antti Lavio <antti.lavio@possu.org> wrote:

Hi All, I'm French, and I met the label director of Dance Pool (a french label of Sony Music) some years ago. His name was Olivier Chatelin. Saddly he's now dead so it will be impossible to know more about his collaboration with The KLF... Here is the story about the J&A/A:WTIL picture disc: Olivier was a big fan of The KLF, and he would like to promote and develop them in France. Moreover there exists only in France the promo record for No More Tears.Liberation is a french newspaper, and the Picture Disc was a promotional communication, made with the autorisation of Bill and Jimmy. So it is an official Dance Pool release, which was the french label which distributed KLF records in France. Cheers,Stephane

Thanks for clearing that out. I still believe that it was also distributed by KLF Communications themselves since it's pressed using the stampers from the official releases and a majority seems to come without the Libération/Dance Pool sticker. /Hans DJ Van Karl skrev 2012-07-15 11:50:

This is the thing I don't understand. If it is a official Dance Pool release, why did B&J sent the pressing plates instead of copies of master tapes? It could be that whole batch was pressed at UK, and then shipped to France, but this is just guessing. -- anttil.
I have two ideas: - some sleeves with stickers were lost and exchanged by blank sleeves- there were 2000 pressed for Liberation maybe by KLF Communications for Dance Pool France (I don't know if it is possible between 2 records companies), and 2000 more only for a normal distribution, which explain the number of records pressed Just a thought Stephane
