I have been collecting KLF for over 10 years now. Never had a clue what my collection would be worth under normal circumstances. Is it sensible to put such a collection online in order to get a reasonable idea of what it could be worth? Or is it just a "Day Price"? I could email you a list. I had started a WR Movie DVD project with a friend who authored and encoded professional DVDs for a living. Everything was completed that I had direct control over. I had my 1st generation PAL copy transferred to professional betacam, and I created all the menus. His job was to implement my menus and handle the details of conversion and PROPER compression of the video to DVD. I was also going to handle the printing and packaging myself. DVDs with graphics printed onto the DVD surface not decals. The problem is that I could never get him to complete his half. So as it stands I have the menus and the tape. I really want to see this project finished, but I don't want to create a home computer DIY DVD burn. I cringe every time I watch a DVD with heavy mosaic or artifacts. I'm not eager to hand over the tape either. There were other projects that disappeared along with the owners tapes. I have considered putting the tape and menu artwork for sale on the list for someone else to complete. I really don't need the money. Just the fact that they would be paying for it would give the owner much more incentive to complete the project. I'm really not sure what I'm going to do with it at this point. Maybe I should burn it and sell the ashes, or cut it into little pieces selling each one for a dollar or two. In light of Bill Drummond and Jimmy Cauty's well-known stance against war I have to agree with Mr. Knight and respectfully disagree with Charlie. I suggest having another listen to "America No More" by The Klf. However, if list-members would rather thoughtful discussion on such issues took place elsewhere I will respect that. The more I listen to Scooter - Weekend, the more I like it. Someone knows him here on the list? I first heard a song called Weekend by Dj Dick back in 1992. then, it was redone about 3 years ago. I like his version. I doubt that it has been played here in Austin. Is his stuff released stateside? The KLF's Guide to the Galaxy (non-HTML - sorry!)

As you may know, next Saturday (8th March) is the 25th anniversary of "The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy" original radio show. I'm attempting to collate a list of all bands/records which have sampled bits of this series - the Orb's "Blue Room", for example, or Jam and Spoon and Radiohead. As far as I am aware, the KLF themselves never sampled "Hitch-Hiker's" in any form (during their ambient days anyway) - but I may be wrong. I wonder if any of the "new" remixes or bootlegs that have popped up in recent years (some of which I've never heard) contain "Hitch-Hiker's" samples. If anyone knows of any record (KLF or otherwise) which contains samples from the show, please feel free to e-mail me off list. Secondly, does anyone know if Bill Drummond was involved with the Ken Campbell stage show of "The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy"? It was done about two years after "Illuminatus!" (which Drummond was set designer on, I think), during the early days of Zoo Records. Presumably Bill had a day job somewhere though! Sorry if this seems a bit off-topic, but any help or info would be very much appreciated. The new Massive Attack is good. I didn't like Mezzanine and while the latest is a long way from the hip hop sounds of the early days it is a late night, whispered, delicate sound collage. Worth getting. Apparently it is only 3D on this recording, no daddy G. On the war subject it has been claimed that Irag has invaded all five of its neighbours, however the US since the WWII has invaded Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Panama, Grenada, Iraq, Afghanistan, Bosnia and leant military advisors to military coups in Nicaragua, Chile and Burma. America is the only country to have used a nuclear weapon in anger and used chemical weapons in large numbers (agent orange in Vietnam). I think those facts speak for themselves.
