1. Does anyone know when this Black Smoke albums coming out? 2. Is there anywhere I can download all of Bill & Jimmy's live gigs in MPEG video format (particuarly the Paradiso gig). 3. Is Bill up to anything at the moment because I wrote a letter to him using The K Foundation address and hav'nt heard anything yet? 4. Is there a Bill & Jimmy MP3 archive on the internet anywhere? 5. Where can I download a Mp3 of The Magnificent from? On the Channel 4 Music teletext page here in the UK, on the Feedback page (Page 162) a few people have been writing in to say that the music industry needs The KLF. Think about it, we need something that complex in music, this Pop Idol shit needs to be stopped and Bill & Jimmy are better than anybody.

Hi all, A few months ago i read about the new government licensing bill proposals/changes being brought in this year (uk and wales only) that will affect musicians and music lovers alike.Under the new law any performance of live music is seen as licensable. Under the old laws soloists/individuals and duo's could play weather the pub/club/bar had a license or not.Now everyone is deemed licensable.Licensee's could face 6 months in prison or a Â£20,000 fine as penalty for breaking the law. Alan Moore once said that the best thing about having a large (and expensive) comic collection is that one day you could sell it and sail round the world on the proceeds. I'm sure the same thing applies to records and CDs, which is always a happy thought. Oh, and Nick Hornby's "High Fidelity" burns on a bonfire just as easily as any other book. Anyway, on with the contention - NO "White Room" (like "Sgt. Pepper", it's a grossly over-rated platter from bona fide geniuses) NO Massive Attack (dull, only one tune) NO Portishead (even duller, glorifies smoking) NO New Order (Ian Curtis did not die for this) NO Brian Eno (inexcusably worked with U2) NO Depeche Mode (wouldn't miss them if they'd never existed) NO Moby (just because) On the other hand - YES "Music Has the Right to Children" (long forgotten summers played on the flute) YES D J Shadow (let's forget about the dodgy UNKLE) YES Orb (apart from "Pomme Fritz") YES Chemical Brothers (one of them won a JAMs/KLF competition when they were only 14, in 1987) YES Derrick May (also for his work with Altern-8, the tiny prankster children of Bill and Jimmy) YES Bjork (then there's at least one woman on this newsgroup) YES Aphex Twin (just because) Comments, please! Mancentral Demise

Hi Everyone I'm sad to see that the Mancentral KLF site is closing down around 7 March. This was the first KLF site I came across some years ago and was how I was introduced to the list. I remember being in KLF heaven when I found it,images, mp3s,message board etc, now it seems it is disappearing for ever due to committments ie getting married and having a baby. So if anyone wants to visit it before it goes and download and share KLF files here is web site klf.life.eu.org without the www for those who haven't visited it before. Maybe it's only Bill's paranoia. Does anyone know anything about the record company that released "K Sera Sera"? The sleeve says "Manufactured & Distributed by NMC Music Ltd." But their website - http://www.nmc-music.co.il/nmc/index.asp - is (a) in Hebrew, and (b) looks more like a music shop site than a record label site. Does anyone know the story behind the K-Foundation's Israeli label? John Not Scots, just Scott-ish

My suggetion would be to check completed auctions on ebay for comparable items that have sold. That's the best way to determine the market value of your collection. Dan Hutchins

Even with e-bay, there can be big contradictions. I got my copy of "Waiting" for Â£30, but six months previously it was going for over Â£100. Just last week "Eternity Project One" CD went for Â£132 - but in "real life" a second-hand CD with a Â£130+ price sticker would never sell! Also, some people can be just plain greedy - a KLF record, for example, can be put on e-bay at a starting price of Â£39.99 and no one bids. However, if the same record is put on at Â£4.99, and the bids rise incrimentally, then sometimes it will go for a lot more. I do know there was a copy of "Record Collector" magazine that came out in 1991 which detailed prices, with a KLF discography. The prices may have risen slightly since then, particularly for later stuff, but I gather that the market in Drummond/Cauty stuff has been pretty stagnant for years. John Not Scots, just Scott-ish
