We all agree about the program's limitations. The
problem lies in finding someone able and with the
time to do the upgrading job.
As an old-time user, I am not bothered by the DOS
platform, nor would I resist a Fractint upgrade to a
state-of-the-art OS. I enjoy the DOS speed, as well
as the full-screen when searching for fractals. I
can endure the limitations imposed by DOS, perhaps
the greatest of which is the inability to apply
arbitrary precision math to type=formula fractals.
But if a native XP version of Fractint were released
which bypassed this limitation, as well as the
video-mode problems, I would likely switch to it.
Does anyone volunteer to do the job?
