HI,
today I present a new MP3 title and although
I scratched the "Holy Grale" of Fractal Music,
that´s what it is and maybe you´ll like it:
"Harvest Song", appropriate to the weather
outside.
:
A word about the "Fractal Rhythm". It´s my
baby and babies must have a name. but it
consists of fractal elements:
1.The rhythm is split into the smallest possible
parts. One voice alone, for example the left
hand of the central piano, has about 150 of
them.
2.One part alone, 1/16triplet in my music, is
powerful enough to destroy or create the
complete character of the music.
3.There are 10 voices, all shift in relation
to each other, so the variations literally
are infinite as also the notes and their
articulation change.
:
As stated before: Even after -theoretically-
days of playing you will not hear the same
variation again.
The set is 3 bothhanded pianos plus drums and bass.
The link contains the mp3, BMP image and IFS.

FOTD -- November 06, 2013 (Rating A-8.5,M-7)
Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:
Today's stellar but slightly ominous image lies in the East
Valley of the parent fractal that comes about when the
expression Z^(2.01)+C is iterated 1.5 levels up the complex
logarithmic hyperladder with no function applied. At this
not-very-impressive height the parent resembles a Mandelbrot set
rotated almost 180 degrees so that East Valley falls close to
the negative X-axis, and its beat-up main bud and main spike lie
near the positive X-axis.
In today's parent, East Valley has been broadened into a wedge,
with fractal debris scattered along the sharp northern edge of
this wedge. Today's image lies in this debris. I'll check the
beat-up main bud and spike in a future FOTD.
Strangely, there is very little in the image to reveal that it
lies in an East Valley. Instead, we see finely-divided arcs and
crescents surrounding the central minibrot. I rated the art
worth at a superior 8.5, mostly because of my coloring, most of
which was created randomly by the Fractint program. I rated the
math interest at a 7, which might be a bit liberal for a math
trick ten years old.
The name "The Shadow Arises" does not imply the return of that
old radio character who could make himself invisible. It refers
to the unusually shadowy appearance of the dark green elements
surrounding the minibrot.
The calculation time of 1-1/5 minutes is reasonably fast, but a
trip to one of the web sites will make the brief wait even
briefer.
The finished image is available at:
<http://www.crosscanpuzzles.com/Archives.html>
with clever variations at:

A little sun, lots of clouds and a high temperature of 61F 16C
brought rather pleasant conditions to Fractal Central today.
The fractal cats had a quiet day except for the time Jasmine
sneaked up on Nico and took a swipe at his tail. In return, he
took a harmless swipe at her to warn her away. The fractal
humans had a near average day.
The next FOTD will be posted within a certain time. To find out
how certain, check back at regular intervals. Until whenever,
take care, and if it can be scientifically demonstrated to be a
fact, it might even be true.

It's been decades for me, but I must say some of this stuff looks like serious tripping ........
Do you see a big fat psychedelic budda sitting in a little cave with menacing eyes and evil grin?
I rendered it at 1400 res, passes=1 for detail
http://www.fractal-animation.net/1400.gif
I am investigating a zoom-in animation now.
Also, the zoom-in to the "Circle13" posted recently is done. Strange - the patterns get SIMPLER as you dive in, and render FASTER!
I went to E+18. I don't think I'll post it as it is somewhat repetative and boring, aside from the technical intrigue.
Cheers
JoTz

FOTD -- November 04, 2013 (Rating A-7,M-7)
Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:
To create today's parent fractal I combined 1.75 negative parts
of Z^(-4.5) with 3 negative parts of Z^(-1.75) and added (1/C)
on each iteration. Calculating with the reciprocal of C usually
turns the fractal inside-out, so that the negative exponents of
Z create a lake rather than an island. In today's case however
the parent does not follow the rules, and appears as a butterfly-
shaped island with large black spots on its wing tips. These
black spots are actually bays, and today's image lies deep in
the northern valley of the northern bay.
My extra coloring effort raised the original humdrum rating of a
5 to a respectable 7. The math rating of a 7 is based on the
unusual doubly inside-out parent butterfly fractal.
The name "Christmas is Coming" is a statement of fact that can
be verified by a glance at the calendar. I chose the name
because I felt a strong seasonal mood in the color scheme.
The calculation time of 2-1/3 minutes is not too bad, but it is
not all that great either. Fear not. The web sites are always
close at hand.
Relief from time distress may be found at the official FOTD web
site at:
<http://www.crosscanpuzzles.com/Archives.html>
where the finished image is posted. Classier variations are
available at:

The day began clear and calm, with a chilly temperature of 23F
-5C, and progressed through a sunny morning and partly-cloudy
afternoon, with a high temperature of 43F +6C. The older
fractal cat, Nicholas, spent most of the time sleeping in my
favorite chair, while the young kitten, Jasmine, who has almost
recovered from her sprained arm, spent the time alternating
between sleeping and playing with her catnip mouse. The humans
passed the day doing what humans usually do, though I'm not sure
average humans spend as much time on fractals as I do.
The next FOTD will most likely be posted in 24 hours. If not,
it will appear in 48 hours. Until next time, take care, and I
will once again place my full faith in science when it can give
a reasonably satisfactory reply to the question of why we exist.
The usual scientific reply is to claim that the question is
meaningless or to refer the questioner to the answers given by
religion, even while hypocritically implying that religious
belief is only a comforting superstition with no reality behind
it. . . .
("We do not invent the things we say," the erudite scientists
loudly proclaim, "we only pass on what we find to be true.")

FOTD -- November 03, 2013 (Rating A-6,M-5)
Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:
Today's image shows a minibrot in the parent fractal that
results when Z^(1.75) is iterated 2 levels up the hyperladder
with no function applied. This parent rather resembles a
termite half rolled onto its back, with its head facing
northwest and a large but isolated minibrot lying just southeast
of its tail. Today's scene lies a short distance to the
northwest of this isolated minibrot.
The name "Dolphin Circle" refers to the brilliant elements
arcing around the northeastern perimeter of the central
minibrot, which struck me as dolphins with their flukes spread.
Since the image was found quickly and I put little effort into
the coloring, I could rate the art no higher than a 6. The math
worth remains a 5.
The calculation time of 1-1/2 minutes is fast enough for all but
the most impatient fractalists, who may choose to view the
finished image on the web sites.

Near total sun prevailed here at Fractal Central today, but the
temperature of 48F +9C kept a chill in the air. The fractal
cats took it easy most all day, Nico in the sun on his shelf,
Jasmine nursing the leg she sprained when she took too great a
leap from a high place. The humans meanwhile passed the day
getting the house moderately ready for a winter that the experts
say will be on the mild side. Hopefully the experts are right.
The next FOTD will be posted in the appropriate time. Until
whenever that might be, take care, and it's impossible for
aliens to be visiting earth from another star system. The
distances are too great and the speed of light is an absolute
limit to travel through space. Unfortunately, the aliens have
not heard the bad news.
