Promotional Box Set

I noticed an interesting item in my favorite record shop yesterday (which is Sister Ray, Berwick St., London if anyone is interested) It's a box set of pre-warner-era ZTT CDs, about 8-10 CDs, all brand new UK pressings in digipacks, in a cardboard box smothered in ZTT logos. The CDs were (I believe) the same tracklistings as the recent Repetoir German re-issues, so I decided not to pay Â£100 for a lot of music I already own and a cardboard box that I don't! There is a LOT of duplication in the package, ie Daft and Who's Afraid of, WTTPD, Liverpool and Bang all being included, and the shop only had 1 copy in it's 'rare box sets' behind the counter section, so I assume this is a promotional bribe for reviewers rather that a commercial release. No sign of the rumored propaganda rarities CD there, or I would have paid the Â£100 for it. - Andy_R

For those that don't read the Blue Board or 808's message board (is that anyone?!), 808's DVD is almost out. Got mine this morning. With free audio CD, State To State Vol. 2. Also note all the comments on the disk have A/V synch problems. Clearly Zang is alienating a substantial group of fans by dropping the ball on this one, as they do on all releases not issued in the US. -paul

Zang decided not to fix it and pulled it from the market. They're not very good at replying to email. FGTH Hard On DVD

Greetings ZTT-ers: Did anybody in the States manage to get the Region 1 Hard On DVD? I ordered one back in early September, but nothing ever showed up on my doorstep, and there is no mention of such an item in the ZTT Shop now. Also, an e-mail inquiry to them a month or so ago went completely unanswered. Speaking of DVD's, I see there is also a new 808 State package coming out -- Opti Buk, a DVD & CD package. There is no mention of what region the DVD is encoded for, so I'm just assuming it will NOT be Region 1. Luckily, I'm on my way out this afternoon to purchase a hackable DVD player. --Larry
