On the other hand, I mostly loved 'Requiem' for its visceral evocation of the actual physical sensation of drug abuse -- those close-ups of pupils dialating and blood vessels constricting, etc., plus the very different ways that the experience of time was depicted for the son on heroin and the mother on diet pills. Despite the skeevy ending (yes, the Jennifer Connolly bit was a sad gross-out), you couldn't help feeling tremendous sorry for everybody even as you knew that the pain was all self-inflicted. The connection to TV and self-help advertorials as alternative addictions was obvious, but no less welcome for that. Anyone heard any news about Aronofsky's Batman film? It's no longer listed on IMDb, so I guess it got canceled? I was more than a little interested in what he would do with a Batman prequel. As long as there is no ass to ass involving Batman or nipples on the costume, I will be happy with it ;) Zach
I see a movie called "Batman 5" slated for 2005 release with Christopher Nolan (Memento) as director, with no Batman casted yet. Is this what became of "Batman: Year One?"
Anyone heard any news about Aronofsky's Batman film?
well i read this thru aintitcool.com a few months ago "Aronofsky said that he wrote a faithful adaptation of Year One with Frank Miller. Warner Bros. owns the screenplay and he understands that they are very protective of the Batman franchise and is unsure about what will become of it. He did say that is is definitely not his next film." and for batfans : http://www.batman-on-film.com/ jp

Then why did they let Joel Schumacher near it, not once but twice?
