I'd go to the archives for this, but I don't think it's been covered all that
recently...
Would anybody care to recommend favorite Merzbow recordings? After years of
apprehensive ignorance (less apprehensive of the content than the risk of
initiating another expensive collecting habit), I finally caught Merzbow last
Saturday night at Tonic, sandwiched between an opening set by Borbetomagus and
an after hours set by Burkhard Stangl & dieb13 (whose new 'eh' on Erstwhile is
wonderful, BTW).
The 'Merzbox' aside (obviously!), which in-print Merzbow recordings provide a
good introduction to his recorded work? And which rarities are worth stalking
eBay for? Or is Merzbow simply better experienced live?
