Are there any good (and preferably free) internet radio stations that have a more avant-garde focus? I know MSN offers one that mentions Zorn and Ornette Coleman in their description, but it costs 30 dollars a year. Is this worth it? Are there better ones out there? Toronto happenings

Hi all, I plan to be in Toronto June 20-23, so if anyone there can hip me to where to find out what sort of cool things are going on, I'd appreciate it. Haven't checked it in a while, but moontaxi.com has a pretty good avant-garde station, along with 13 or 14 other channels of music. Their rotation of songs can get a little stale, or at least last time I logged on, it could just be me though since I'm a radio guy, and tend to get anal about things like that. Rock on. I suggest that everyone check out www.live365.com. There seems to be over 1000 stations to listen to, anything you can imagine, including a station that plays only Eugene Chadbourne.

Hi folks, I recently aquired a decent internet connection and have since been pretty busy checking out various radio programs and music shows over the internet. I was very postively surprised by how many cool things are in fact out there and how much easier it makes it to check out new stuff without having to buy every single time (I imagine a massive drop in people mistakenly buying Tzadik discs after reading Zorns little cover blurps ;-) But the massive amount also makes it pretty impossible to navigate through all of it, so I was kind of curious to hear if you have any reccomendtions.
