There are more and more people using non-IE browsers, so targeting just 87% of the audience which will decrease even more is a strange policy. Releasing the version of the web site without proper beta testing is even more strange practice. The new trend is to simplify the content, not to make it heavy and slow loading, and definitely not overloaded with scripts and extra unnecessary pages. I'm not even talking about the sound samples which is a great idea per se, but not great at all if it only works with the bloated Windows Media Player and nothing else (even the other players which can play WMA files don't work with the AMG). Tim Sparks did a wonderful noon time show at the University of Minnesota yesterday unvailing music from an upcoming CD, as well as two selections from his Tzadik release Masada Guitars. The new material included tunes from Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton, Neshama and others. He's got the strongest fingers in the business, and really a nice guy. Personnaly I don't like new AMG design too. And I also use it very often, almost every day. Also, it was mentioned in the June issue of The Wire that some label is planning to issue a massive set of Ayler unreleased material. Anyone knows the details? deka

My main beef is the seeming lack of support for other browsers beside IE. As a mozilla firefox user (if you haven't tried it, it's the best browser out there), I'm annoyed that the site not only doesn't look right but there was a message saying that they don't support any browser aside from IE. I don't like having to switch to IE to view this one site. Also, I use the tabbed browsing feature in Mozilla a lot on AMG. It is more clicks, but I think I can get used to the new lay (and features). "The Shell Game" is great but to me Big Satan's first CD "honey, I think they like it" reins supreme. I never really got into the Bloodcount, but I did enjoy the "Caos Totale" band with Bobby Previte on drums... Not to mention Miniature - the trio with Joey Baron and Hank Roberts.
