Just posted this Shirley Bassey video. Was told it was from the BBC TV Terry Wogan Show from 1987. Some people have said it is not. Can anyone confirm what show it is from. http://web.mac.com/jonathankamm/iWeb/YelloArtworkSite/Movie.html Thanks, Jonathan
Perhaps if the MOV file could be downloaded so I can mangle it into something I can view, I, being in the UK, could tell you :-) On 22/02/06, Jon Kamm <kammagic@comcast.net> wrote:

OK. I downloaded the file, and I get that Realplayer can't get the codecs it needs, or something. I've not pulled QT down because I don't want itunes, I already have to put up with Sony DRM for my MD. Enough rant. So I cannot see it. However I can hear it, and no it is not Wogan. The voice at the beginning sounds like David (Kid) Jensen, and the programme is likely to be "Top Of The Pops" (but a screenshot of the guy talking with the background would nail it) or it could have been one of the other music shows on in the UK at the time. First thing first... http://www.codecguide.com/about_qt.htm ;) I've had a look at the clip did a bit of research and it doesn't seem like Top of the Pops but I know it's deffinately not Wogan... having trouble trying to establish programs that were about at the time but I'll keep at it. Hey Nic, Try this player. It's farout better then any other player for QuickTime files. Even maybe smaller in size then QuickTime itself. QuickTime Alternative download <http://www.codecguide.com/download_qt.htm> page Direct <ftp://ftp.freenet.de/pub/filepilot/windows/multimedia/video/quicktimealtern ative/quicktimealt168.exe> download link to fast FTP-server I alway's use it, together with the Real Alternative, witch is also a verry nice alternative. Greetings & succes, Peter "Shaggy" van de Beek. _____ Van: yello-bounces+e.vandebeek1=chello.nl@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:yello-bounces+e.vandebeek1=chello.nl@mailman.xmission.com] Namens Nic Verzonden: donderdag 23 februari 2006 11:39 Aan: The moon: beautiful. THANK YOU!! Also thank you to Franz for the AVI. I'll spare you the details but several reboots and downloads later I have seen it. OK yes it is "Kid" Jensen, http://www.theedge-uk.com/davidkidjenson.htm and I'm fairly sure that the program will have been an ITV network UK chart show, probably called the Chart Show. I glimpsed the placement as 73 (?) but the ITV commercial TV) network used a different chart to the BBC. The chart show went through several incarnations, but has always had those "snippets of useless information" rolling across the screen and even cd:uk (today's title) has the same. That is the giveaway. http://www.primeperformers.co.uk/phppages/fullProd.php/David_Jensen/46 This nails it, must have been called The Roxy originally, before getting the graphics makeover which became the chart show. The dates given are correct for the music in question. -- Regards, Nic. We are the architects, not the victims of our own destiny

Just can't keep up? You can never keep up. Obsoleteness is only seconds away. Usually right after you finally decide to purchase a new system. No doubt, this prattle about codec's will never end. I look forward to the insight though, at least that provides good entertainment for all. Laurens van Graft The Grip Guy (thegripguy@rogers.com) All your gymnastics grip needs right here!
