Sean what is up with the Bountiful warehouse?

Sean have you called our friend in Bountiful recently? When I was out at California Extreme, I overheard two Atari employees joking about Sprint 8. They claimed it was called 8 because only 8 were made. It just made me think about the two of them being held hostage in that Bountiful warehouse. It would be a real coup if we could get them out.

Atari Flashback 2.0

I don't know if anyone else cares but Atari (infogrames) has released a new atari 2600 console. Unlike the last Atari Console release (Flashback) apparently 2.0 is true 2600 hardware on a chip instead of sorry ports of 2600 games to a famicom on a chip. I did not buy the original Flashback but I think I'm going to pick one of these up. When I sold my house I and my games Atari memoribilia has filled the space (not literally but getting close). The thing that intrigues me most about this new system is the composite video instead of the old RF technology (RF has real problems with the newer TVs) so I'll actually be able to use this on my newer tv. Also of interest is that one can hack it to use legacy cartridges. CA Extreme and Ground Kontrol

I just thought I would check in with everyone to see if anyone is making the trip to San Jose next weekend. I will be in the Bay Area Friday through Monday and at the show all day Saturday. I actually got a hotel in San Jose accross the street from Parc Plaza (where the show is held) and have a spare bed so if someone needs to crash there LMK (nc). I'm looking forward to the show this year, this is my 5th year and it just seems to be more fun every year. Tickets to Oakland are cheap now $89 to $120 on Southwest and commuter rail (Capitol Corridor) runs from the Coluseum BART station to 5 blocks from the venue. Also, I took a trip to the Pacific NW Seattle and Portland over the 24th weekend. Literally the highlight was visiting Ground Kontrol in Portland. That place is a true gem on any level. There seemed to be about a hundred games/Pinball all in great working condition. There was only one game out of order and it was Star Trek and we all know how that goes. Seems to be a shame there is not a resourse like that around here. They have been around for a few years and just recently added an alcohol license to sell beer after 7 pm. It really was like stepping back to 1982. I was there mid afternoon and there were about a half dozen people playing games. I wish I could have spent more time but I had family obligations (wife and baby took a nap in the car) I will go back there next time I visit Portland. http://www.groundkontrol.com/arcade/index.php
