Cliff Hanger....slot machine?

True; saw it with my own eyes. I was down at a local op's place and he asked me if I wanted to buy a slot machine. I said no, but he said come look anyway. He had 4 of them on and we played a couple of times. Just on tokens. The more I looked at one of them, the more it seemed familiar. Finally I recognized the artwork. It was the characters from Cliff Hanger! I asked where he got them and he said that in Japan they have to sell their slots after 2 years use. (True? That sounds weird.) The writing was all Japanese, so that didn't help, but he said they are only 2 years old, and they look new. Anybody heard of any other old video games coming back in other forms? (utvgg) Missile Command UPR

A friend of mine just lost his job and his Missile Command UPR is now for sale. I have it at my house if anyone wants to come and look. It's in good condition but the PCB has a few problems. Curious if anyone is interested. If not, I'll probably keep it in the garage until a PCB can be fixed. I already have a caberet MC so I don't really need it. thanks, jeff

I also serve on the SLC landmarks commission where I fight a losing battle for preservation and good architecture in the area. :-)

I'm just curious. What other hobbies, past-times, obsessions or manias does this group have? I'll go first: Other than the arcade thing, I recently started collecting toys from my childhood. Hot Wheels cars, Stompers, etc. This has been really fun cause you can almost always find something along these lines at yard sales, and I have yet to find an arcade game at a yard sale. (Now everyone write in and tell me about the sweet "XXXX" you found for $50 last summer.) I also like to snowmobile, I go up Farmington Canyon quite a bit cause it's close and the sledding is good. The Timberlakes area east of Heber is also a favorite. By necessity I am getting into Linux and Perl, any Perl gurus feel like troubleshooting a CGI script? :) Oh, and I race Ferrari's for Steve Harris import's. Cheap games & Costco & Sams Club

It may be old news, but in the last week I've noticed a bunch of cheap PS2 games at Costco & Sam's Club. They had two prices, $19 & $28. Naturally, these were all older games, and a lot of them were turkeys, but there were a few decent ones in the mix. They also had a few of the newest games at a tiny discount ($5 or so), but since nearly nobody discounts PS2 games, I suppose it's better than nothing. There was also a bunch of PS1 games, and a handful of Xbox, GameCube & GB Advance games. Que Game Cube? Que Xbox?

Anyone buying a Gamecube or Xbox this week? I think if my Christmas finances leave anything over, I'll get the Gamecube. Then an Xbox when it drops to $99 next year. ;-) I went around town trying to find Gamecube reservations last week. Nobody has them, or they're doing first-come, first-serve. Slashdot reported that Gamecubes are being sold before the November 18th launch-date. Has anyone seen them being sold locally?
