In a nutshell: Mucho Bueno.
This show was way better than it should have been. The cast of
characters was great. You've got this normal guy, Steve Wiebe, who
figures that since he sent in a video tape showing he scored over
1,000,000 points in DK, that he'll take the record high score. The
punchline is, everyone else involved either takes this *way* too
seriously, is nuts, or both.
There were 23 people in the 7:15 showing on Friday night, so it's not
making big dough, but it should. You end up really rooting for the
protagonist, and the Twin Galaxy guys go to great, and obvious, lengths
to keep Steve from the title. You have never seen a bigger Tool, with a
capital T, than Brian Kuh. Billy Mitchell shows what a classy guy he
is, and Mr. Awesome, is, well, words escape me. Oh, and Mitchell's wife
is worth the price of admission by herself. Really gives you some
insight into Billy's psyche, knowing he's married to a gal like that.
Make sure you see this movie, via theater, DVD or Bittorrent. It stops
being about a video game, and is a just a great story.
