It is right in the center of the sun right now. It should be a good photo opportunity for those that have solar filters and digital cameras. And good weather of course. Because of the limits on attachments in yahoo mail, please send them to my real identity email account (removing the "_SPAMBOTBLOCK_" text string): fisher_SPAMBOTBLOCK_ka(a)csolutions.net I am still in learning mode, so I do not know the answer to your other question. My impression, reading the manual, is that unless the scroll speed setting is set to maximum (9 out of a range of 1...9), it is likely any intermediate level observer will manually slew too fast so that the motion encoders will skip in their counting. So, I figured one would have to include one or two of the sw3 initialization bright stars in an evening's planned list of targets when sweeping in right ascension inorder to resync the computer every four ot five targets. Hi, I have two pdf files for the SW3 Star List and Non-Stellar List I dredged up from somewhere a while back. I printed them out an bound them and refer to them quite a bit. Can send to you , email me naz_david at msn dot com if you want them. What version do you have? Mine's an Orion Sky Wizard v3.51 and seems to be a bit cranky re alignment. I polar align accurate enough to get by with a one star alignment but its a toss of a coin if the alignment is a success. The dec seems to need the encoder direction reverse to make it work - sometimes plus sometimes minus, I have not been able to pick a pattern...have you noticed this? Cheers David
