Even the KSL story has been edited today to show it at 20 Light years. Wiki shows it at 20.3 light years or 119 Trillion miles. For those of you reading this post in the future when it finally gets to you you will know that the original story listed it at 20 million miles. For those of you complaining about mail service in Europe, I'm wondering if you have heard the news story about the delay in the U.S. Postal workers union elections? It appears that they had to delay the election since thousands of ballots are lost in the mail. Here is my frustration with this site and it could be related to the problem of these late posts. I had to go all the way up to Patrick post to get a response window to open. Sometimes the response is posted. Sometimes ii doesn't. Thanks Jo for the compliment but it assumes I had any marbles to begin with. Save them for me if you find them. We're heading to Capitol Reef this weekend, and were thinking it would be nice to have a green laser pointer to take with us. Anybody have a recommendation for brand / and / or know if there are any available locally? Julie

Think about it Chuck. A 200" focal length, a 16-18' tube, you, up on a ladder 10' off the ground. This would not be a practical public observatory scope. Imagine the liability of having observers climbing a 15' ladder. For a private observatory it could make sense. I cannot recall any such event. ☺ I wanted to post a comment to the “Went to the Planetarium” thread but it wouldn’t open a response window. Any how, we have bashed the Planetarium and SLAS enough. I hope we continue to improve relations with the Planetarium. SLAS, like any organization, can’t be all things to all people. We accommodate a pretty wide group of people and interests. If people can’t find what they’re looking for in SLAS they’ll go somewhere else. And that’s fine with me and there is nothing wrong with that. Sometimes SLAS can expand their venue to accommodate additional interests, sometimes it can’t or won’t. We have a pretty full plate as it is. But just because some people have a falling out with SLAS or don’t find what their looking for is no reason to bash SLAS. Maybe those people should bear some of the blame. Bash them for a while.
