V.92 is a feature (subset) of v.90, not a modulation type. Connections will show V.90 Modulation. You will have to check the intended operational features of V.92 to include: PCM upstream, Modem on hold, and Quick Connect and see if any of those work. Setting up RIP

I need to set up RIP. RIP is enabled but the number of RIP interfaces is zero. I have tried all the set commands I can think ofand can't find anything that seems to work. I tried the docs at totalcontrol but they seem to be down or busy. Something else I just thought of - I did just within the last couple weeks install SP3 on both of my IAS machines - might have something to do with it??? Running Hiper ARC 5.3.3. Just tried to verify a user using the _AUTH USERNAME PASSWORD command from telnet to the ARC and can't do it. Same user CAN authenticate just fine when dialing up. I'm using Win2K/IAS for RADIUS. Event Log shows "Access Request ... discarded". Backup Backhaul over MLPPP help request.

I need any and all information available for the following type of situation. Problem - Wcity has just lost it's backhaul. Desired Result - Monitoring software detects that the backhaul is dead and dials into Wcity's CLI. Executes commands to start process of creating backup backhaul. It does this by utilizing 4 modems and nailing up a connection to a larger pop (Zcity). This should be a MLPPP connection. Wcity then directs traffic across this link and through the Zcity backhaul. Both locations use Channelized T1s not PRIs. Since it is unlikely that any one person will have the answers to the whole problem, please help me by contributing any information or links you have regarding these things: Establishing MLPPP LAN-LAN Connections Dialout user/network service setup for such connections. Routing Wcity traffic across such a link On-Demand Routing (Might nail LAN-LAN connections, and default routing?) Found this in a post, but I can't find anything about on-demand routing anywhere else. "You *might* find it easier to use the on-demand routing in the Arc to make the calls. The Arc can look in the user's table for users that can dial to a remote gateway on-demand...it can use this as a default route as well I believe. Alternatively, you could run RIPv2 over this connection from your NETServer and even get dynamic routing on it...or inject default into your RIPv2 cloud and let RIPv2 handle the default." And of course have changes made to the Cisco routers to make sure they could hit the outside world. However, I seem to be wrong. I haven't been able to nail a connection to Zcity pop, much less route traffic across the link. I know the T1s are two-way and when I attempt to dial the user it goes off hook, but nothing comes of it. Let me know if you have any ideas, or know what I'm doing wrong. Hi folks, I have more information about this. I had access to console of Hiperdsp and got below status,, look at the status and blocked status column. It won't be anyone except USR (or 3Com). X2 was USR...everyone else was doing flex. I believe you are correct though...I noticed the same thing during those times of transitioning to V.90. On a poor line - x2 does 48000, V.90 does 45.3 at best. I tried this several times and the x2 is noticeably faster browsing web pages and such. The V.90 speeds are the same results I'm getting with most V.90 or V.92 modems on those 2 phone lines. What's more - the x2 connects in 13 seconds - same as I'm getting with V.92 Quick-Connect. Is it just me, or does X2 seem to be better all around? Any manufacturers still making good x2-compatible modems? Just curious if anyone else has noticed this. Error on a Hiper DSP card

Hi there. I have a Hiper DSP card that gives me the error shown below when I boot it up. Repeated attempts to flash it with different versions of firmware have given no positive results.
