What's the plan on fixing the NMC's so they'll handle SNMP PDU's larger than 1500 bytes (or whatever it is around that number that is the actual limitation)? Now that I'm starting to write some SNMP scripting...I'm *quickly* running into this limitation, and its gonna really suck to have to code around it. Can the NMC's IP stack not reassemble or something? I assume you are using POTS lines. If you have the Line Interface Options for the modem set to nic rather than pritdm or t1tdm that should be all you have to do to in order to make the modem pick up the line. I have a chassis that I am preparing for analog application. I have set the quad modems to use the nic card thru config TCM. Are there any answering parameters that must be config'd? I concur on the training; I know in our area there are plans to have a session in the near future. Even those that think they "know it all", will learn some new tricks. I've been fortunate to get to know George Ebert at 3Com, and he's been a fantastic resource for those types of things. It'll be nice, though, to retain more than say 30% from those valuable informal sessions; as well as send a couple of our Admins to the training. I had suggested perhaps a TC users conference would be cool; something like an ISPCON but specifically for TC units. 1-2 days with conferences on many of the subjects we talk about here. There's a lot more "under the hood" than many of us ever get to, and I know we could, if we knew about them, use a lot more features than we currently do. A few examples....I'm sure y'all can think of many more..... - T1 provisioning/trouble resolution (line, trunk, PRI, signal/noise ratio's, etc.) - Monitoring/auto responder - Getting more mileage out of TCM - Advanced SNMP - Authentication/Accounting - Dialup user issues (monitoring, filtering, setup, etc.) - HiperARC setup - TC "future" - VoIP, ? - Hardware planning (so how many DSP's can I put in a dual 45a chassis? How much juice do quads take?) - Getting to the bottom of modem compatibility issues - Making a mobile or other artwork out of old TC cards you can't seem to sell for squat...:^) I'd pay $1-2k for such a day-2day conference.....Just thoughts.... USR/3-COM use to have a list on the Internet that had a searchable list of ISP's that used there equipment. Anyone know of that site address... Looking for Atlanta, ISP that uses X2/V.90 Standards to reference a customer to who is moving there.. Its got a high metric of -> 1000, and the "true" default route is set as 1, but I was curious about how -> Windows98 even knew about our total control hubs. They are on the same -> network. Anyone else notice this? Anything negative about it? How do you -> stop 98 from listening to those routes? If you find out let me know too. We've got a customer which has two RAS servers on their LAN (one is a 3com and the other Ascend) and their routing tables show the same thing. The odd part is after awhile they won't be able toget through their default gateway (the Ascend unit) unless either they delete the route with the 1000 metric or reboot their machine. It's driving them crazy. Of course they use the Ascend to dial into us and into the Internet. Its got a high metric of 1000, and the "true" default route is set as 1, but I was curious about how Windows98 even knew about our total control hubs. They are on the same network. Anyone else notice this? Anything negative about it? How do you stop 98 from listening to those routes? Anything on the console port? Bootup messages? (actually don't think you would see those if I recall correctly, just a login prompt when it is up...) Get out the pcsdl, source and re-upload it via serial cable. Hint: set your serial port to at least 57600 w/dip switches. Sounds like your flash got corrupted. Or send it back to 3Com and they'll do probably the same thing. Re: (usr-tc) HiPer DSP and E1/R2

Hi Daniel, You will need an E1/R2 version of Hiper DSP code. The filename is in the format of HR******.DMF, where the *s are the version number. The HE******.DMF files are for E1/PRI and the HD******.DMF files are for T1/PRI. The R2 code is not generally available yet but there are beta and engineering releases that some customers have been using.
