I hope Sting is not fading into his twilight years as a failure with this album. I still have hope for a good album.
Wasn't Brand New Day Sting's best-selling album thus far? Not that sales translate into quality, but Sting is not going the way of James Taylor by fading into irrelevance. And not to sound like Casey Kasem, but Sting is still a "chartbuster." Sting makes money for the record execs. I don't like "Send Your Love," but I think it will help sell the album to the kids on the dance floors, and those kids buy A LOT of albums. And I think the album will pick up in quality after we get this first single out of the way. Johnny Nitro
hey! let us not forget past history: MF didn't sell that well, despite the fact that the quality of the record is great. i got the impression that, like many other acts in music, the universal A&R people had no idea had to market the album. on the heels of that came the release of BND, which also did not start off that well. "brand new day" was released as first single and it did not make a dent. it was not until the jag commerical that thngs started taking off for the album... rich--- WiggleHips@aol.com wrote:
