The Stewart Copeland Anthology
Just found this while scanning the internet: Stewart Copeland, drummer for the Police, will release his first-ever “best of” collection,” titled The Stewart Copeland Anthology on August 14th. The set includes compositions from his solo career including his Trey Anastasio/Les Claypool collaboration: Oysterhead, as well as key tracks from the Notte Della Taranta and GIZMO ensembles. Most noteworthy are Copeland’s soundtrack compositions. Back in 1983 Copeland was asked by legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppala to score his kids art-flick Rumble Fish. Copeland later received a Golden Globe nomination for his contribution to the film’s score. These, along with tracks from the product of his musical pilgrimage to Africa,The Rhythmatist are included on the anthology. All together 10 never before commercially released tracks make the cut.
