To weigh into the debate..... Back in 84 both in Sydney and Melbourne and no doubt the rest of the planet, The Police put on a show that consisted of three talented muso's, a couple of back up singers, a light show and a big TV. What's changed? I'll tell ya what's changed - U2 raised the bar as far as a performance show goes. We have all come to expect 30,000 dancers on stage with a singer ( Madonna, Kylie Minogue et al) and a bucket load of costume changes like Stevie Nicks ( with or without Fleetwood Mac). My son and I are going to see the Police play their music. Not some fancy show. If I wanted to see a fancy show I would have shelled out the hard earned and gone and seen Christina Augulira, who has just played in Brisbane. Cheers from down here! THat's why I go to shows, for sure. I rock out. I don't care what's going on at the stage. Am I in the minority?
