That is pretty amazing that we've never heard of this connection. Who knows what else passes us by! Michelle in TX In a message dated 5/7/05 6:28:23 PM, hjusth@knology.net writes:
Hi! I know...there had been no mention of the Sting connection that I know of before the telecast of the race on NBC (they mentioned it on air at least three times). I did see the horse's name on the list in the paper last night and thought...gee that's the name of Sting's youngest, but thought that it was just a coincidence. I was rooting for Afleet Alex due to the Philly connection and the connection to Alex's Lemonade stands (which is such a worthwhile cause). I posted on Sting.com to see if anyone had happened to bet on this horse (so far have not heard any stories of winning bettors!). I wish I would have...it would have helped with the ticket fund for the next tour! Hilary

Today's winner...Giacomo, named after Sting's son. 50 to 1 longshot meaning $20 bet would have paid $1000. Why didn't I know the Sting connection before the race?
