May 15th 2003 For Police Fans in the Cleveland area 18 hour Police Marathon - Broadcast by WBWC Radio Cleveland As part of their 2003 Summer Marathon Series, WBWC Radio in Cleveland will be running an 18 hour Police Marathon. The show will be Hosted by Gary Hartell and Dan Miller. As well as the Police catalogue, they plan to feature solo work from the three Police members, such as Klark Kent, Animal Logic, Oysterhead, and also guest appearences with other artists. Mystery of the lost messages solved

Hi all, Sending this message as a test, because I think I've worked out why some of us have been sending messages which then did not appear on the list. Sometimes I and others have sent emails and had the headers appear, but underneath it has said something about an HTML attachment having been scrubbed, even though I for one don't send attachments to the list. I've finally realised what's happened. Those of us who this has been happening to are most probably using Rich Text Format (that's what I have in Hotmail anyway) or something similar to write our emails, and that automatically uses HTML to format, create fonts and colours, and do other stuff, meaning that HTML is used in the message our email accounts send to the list manager. This wasn't a problem for ages, but I'm guessing that whoever runs the list has recently disallowed HTML in posts because it means the messages take up more room in our inboxes. Demos

While I like all the collaboration Sting does, I am still playing the Secret Journey demo NON-STOP! Besides it being one of my favorite Police songs, I love hearing how a song evolves... especially this one. When you're talking about a song writer like Sting, you can really see that he does "view" music as a modular entity. It shows in songs like Secret Journey, and some of his solo stuff (eg. Everybody Laughed but You). Somedude20, if you have any more demos, Police demos in particular, please post them. I can't listen to them enough. Thanks, -FS

Schoener / Animal Logic

Eberhard Schoener is a german keyboardist, more in a prog vein, that staged a live number mixing prog music with a Rock Band. The Police was the band. This was before Outlandos. I have the A&M LP "MUSIC FROM VIDEO MAGIC AND FLASHBACK" with Schoener. There is a guest german sax player named Olaf Kubler, too. The music is very boring, with some long long loooooooooooooooong keys soundscapes, The exception is the great "Natural High". Regarding Animal Logic, the voice of Debra Holland don?t bother me. But the music is just plain pop. Without inspiration. Just a rarity. PS: I daily receive the digests of the messages of the list. Digests are terrible to read. Sometimes with just a quick preview I delete the digest without read any post. PLEASE, IF YOU ARE REPLYING A MESSAGE TAKE YOUR TIME TO EDIT CAREFULLY YOUR EMAILS BEFORE TO PRESS "SEND". Rise & Fall

Hello everyone! I was just listening to the Craig David/Sting collaboration "Rise and Fall" and it occurred to me that there wasn't too much discussion about it on the list. Or maybe there was ... and I missed it? Anyway, I have say that I am really enjoying it. I have been listening or watching it often and find myself humming or thinking it at times throughout the day. It sort of keeps coming back to me unbidden. I am completely unfamiliar with any of Craig David's previous endeavors, I don't even know what category he would be placed in radio right now, since I haven't been listening to much recently. (I really need an XM satellite radio, three quarters of my choice in radio stations are country.) I, of course, think Sting sounds great. Shape of my Heart is one of my favorites, (there are so many!), so I like the music. Would you all agree that this is a different style for Sting or is just that I have never heard him with someone like Craig David before? Anyone hate it? Curious about all your opinions. Talk amongst yourselves...LOL TaoOfKim

Fiction Plane and Sting

Went to the Mall at lunch to hear Apple's new music announcement - got a kick when Steve Jobs said the new ipod is lighter than two CDs - one CD that he showed was Sting's All This Time. The other thing - I was walking by Cambridge Soundworks at the Mall and saw Sting flash by on a TV screen in the store window - they then showed Fiction Plane for several minutes being interviewed and in concert. I couldn't hear what it was but at the end I saw it was the MTV news with the heavy punk looking guy who always wears T-shirts and has tattoos - so maybe they will show it later too.

more sting songs

I uploaded two new songs today. The first is Sting covering Purple Haze and the second song is Sting, Andy, and someone named Eberhard Schoener. I know nothing about Mr. Schoener but I can tell you that the track is called Why Don't You Answer. Also, I have a number of live tracks from Animal Logic, (they put out a live EP about ten years ago) but I don't know if you guys would want to hear it. I can take small amounts of this group, (even Stew's drums and Stan's bass can't help save me from that woman's voice). The only track that I will say is outstanding is There is a Stone Inside My Show and the only reason for that is a lengthy bass solo that rocks plus great drums. Sorry if I have offended any Animal Logic fans out there I just cannot stand that woman's voice or even her songs. Enjoy the music, Sean
