Sorry to post again, but I also love that he included Spinal Tap. I just bought that on DVD this week. I've been on a Christopher Guest kick lately, and it just seemed like a movie I needed to own. A Mighty Wind was pretty good as well, but not as good as Best in Show. That movie is hilarious. Fred Willard is awesome. Ross

Great concert considering the short time they had to rehearse these songs. One gripe though, Stings voice sounded strained. As a sound engineer myself, I am perplexed as to why Sting refuses to use any vocal enhancements that all professional singers use on stage. Outside of the normal reverb/ maybe compression, some artistes use machines like a VP9000 to fatten their vocals. Sting used some effects on the DVD recording but on tour, its totally flat. Why does Sting tour with such raw vocals? This might work if his engineer mixed his vocals well (which he does not) but I am not sure if Sting is to blame or his sound engineer. I find it hard to believe a professional engineer would have someone of Stings status sound so raw and I wonder if these are ridiculous instructions coming from Sting? The high notes? The longer Sting tours, the longer his voice takes to warm up, he had a hard time on Inside, this tour might take 5 songs for him to feel comfortable and the engineer to mix it right. Another beef with this engineer, all I heard were guitars, drums and bass, with the bass signal extremely high during Whenever I Say Your Name, another mistake? I never heard the percussionist from Morocco and barely any Jason Rebello, including his normally great keyboards in Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic. Is Stings sound engineer deaf? The show sounded almost like a Police concert, guitar, bass, drums, many classics. Heres the Atlanta radio setlist, Send Your Love Message in a Bottle If You Love Somebody Set Them Free Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic Inside Whenever I say Your Name Synchronicity II Roxanne If I Ever Lose My Faith In You Every Breath You Take Fragile This tour seems like it would be similar to the Ten Summoners Tales tour, more rock and pop. this was a great performance. however, one of the things i will always unfortunately remember about this was the "jam" performed by sting/band: on the 2cd, cd1 is the rehearsal, where they practice the "jam". then, during the show (right before "message"), they played it, sting telling the audience afterwards that they "just made it up" - the implication i took from that was that they just made it up on the stage (to paraphrase thelonious monk, straight, no rehearsal) the renditions of "message", EBYT and "tea in the sahara" are absolutely outstanding... rich --- "M.J. the picture quality of the Brazilian DVD "Acustico" is actually quite good. I've had some more DVDs from that company which were obviously copied from some LaserDiscs. The "Red Light Green Light" jam was very much an improvised moment during the MTV Unplugged taping- it's started up by Vinnie then David hits the piano chords. I can't find the musical ideas for it anywhere on the rehearsal disc. Do you have a track number/time listing? It is great that there are so many great songs to choose. I'm with you, my selection of favourites changes often. However...my advice is to take out the ones that are well known, and choose the most obscure out of your list. Then, I guess it's "eeny meeny" from there. :D "So Lonely" is probably my favourite Police song, yeah, I think so.... ;D Good luck.
