If Universal Music doesn't want to invest the money in transferring and
releasing this stuff, then Andy and Stewart should release it on their own
independently. Sting can't stop them, because even though Sting was the
principal songwriter of the group, the footage is of all three of them, and,
being two-thirds of The Police, Andy and Stewart outrank Sting 2 to 1 and
have a right to release footage of themselves as members of The Police.
And even if Andy and Stewart can't afford to transfer the Super 8 to
digital, I think most of us dyed-in-the-wool Police fans would eat up this
stuff and buy it even on VHS -- although a non-remastered, non-cleaned-up
DVD transfer would still be a must-have. Plus, the ensuing quality would add
to the classic vintage feel of the nostalgic footage.
Remember, if it wasn't for Andy's persistent labor of love, The Police Live
double CD would have never seen the light of day, and not because of legal
wrangles, but rather apathy.

Hi
when I interview Andy Summers they told to me that there's a lot of material
on SUPER 8mm, to expensive to transfer in new DIGITAL formats, that there's
many,many tapes, that the idea is very nice and that many of these stuff is
also on the Andy's hands, (double copies).There's many stuff of fans from
difff. countrys,...etc... etc...
best
toni

Ciao Raj; the new Stewart Copeland cd will only be released in Italy by now;
there might be the chance that some importer in every country will get it on
import, but that doesn't mean it will be distributed or released; just as
import, that means a few copies.
There are already some deals coming about licensing the cd outside Italy,
but for sure it won't be released before the summer.
Ciao ciao
Giovanni

I'm looking forward to it. I hope it's released in the U.S. -- after all,
Stewart lives here!
Any word, Giovanni?

Hi there from Giovanni.

Sure they are, and the live versions are very close to the studio version;
it's great to listen to this stuff live!
Ciao ciao

Man, I hope that doesn't mean that "Mother" lives!
