Branford Marsalis at North Sea Jazz Festival

Hello all, This week I received an update of this years program of The North Sea Jazz Festival. The message says that Branford Marsalis will be artist in residence this year, which means he will perform on each day of the festival. He will do a show with a philharmonic orchestra, a tribute to John Coltrane and play with Roy Haynes. This is maybe a little of topic, but I thought it might be interesting for some of you. The North Sea Jazz Festival will be held in Rotterdam this year instead of The Hague by the way and it is on July 14, 15 and 16. Bye, Yvonne

Eberhard Schoener 2 CD set

I guess it was Jörg who already pointed out the new Eberhard Schoener CD on the POLICE mailing list. I've just bought it (didn't think I would!) because I had the opportunity to listen to the tracks in the record shop. It's not the tracks you already know. More like "deranged" versions with things left out and things added in 2006. So every track with a POLICE member on it (and that's 11 out of 31) is a different one to your previous versions. Very interesting to hear more of Sting's voice - sometimes taken out of context or combined with another part of the song... Dietmar
