Well folks, I am leaving Wednesday morning to go to New Orleans for Sting's concert at the Saenger Theatre. I saw him there for BND and it's a great venue, very intimate. Last time I had no luck attempting to see him the sound check or after show. Anyone have any tips? Wish me luck! KIM

I'd have to say one of my favorite bootlegs is the 22/08/80 show in Beziers early on in the Zenyatta Mondatta tour. It's a soundboard, and it's an extremely good one at that (the mix is also really interesting, not just every instrument lumped into stereo) and it's a great gig, really energetic, and they're playing many songs for almost the first time, so they're perhaps not played as smoothly as they would be later on, but they have a kind of dirtier feel to the then new songs which is really nice to hear. Does anyone out there have a favourite Police Live Bootleg? Perhaps Wallaby 1981? Bottom Line 1979? San Bernadino 1982? or even Leeds 1983 where Sting can be heard to put down the spitting audience member as a c**t!? Right now I love the Reggatta de Blanc Tour material the best - but the 1982 gigs with the horns are cool too... Also.. when is the Live at Hatfield DVD coming out in the UK?????? Or even the Stewart Copeland Derangements on SACD!?!??! And will the BBC Peel Sessions ever get a re release? Or even a Deluxe edition of the old albums with session tracks / demos etc? Police on TV show ROCK PLANET early 1979

Hi I'm still trying to find out the correct dates for EVERY Police photo. Today it's about the black and white photos from THE VISUAL DOCUMENTARY that can be seen on the December 1979 pages and on several other pages in the book (where bananas play a certain role...). I asked the photographer about the date and location and he answered this: I shot the black and white Police shots in an Amsterdam TV studio of a program called Rock Planet. They did playback and were acting crazy. He mentions that the band was NOT famous then. The haircuts could mean that the show was recorded between February and June 1979. Probably rather early in 1979. Any ideas? thanks Dietmar
