Channel surfing, the movie "Cat's Eye" was on and playing for only an instant was a cover of "Every Breath You take." I could tell almost instantly what it was (and cover at that). So of course I went back and kept it on for the remaining part of the song. Not bad cover either. I've actually baffled friends how I can pick out Police/Sting songs at literally an instant. Hi everyone ! It's been a while , busy with school this year! Anyway, just a thing i noticed on the Brimstone DVD ... NO EXTRA FEATURES!!! They could have put the video to spread a little happiness, interviews with the actors and director, Edited cuts from the movie ... etc. They really sucked for that, knowing that was the ultimate Sting movie. A friend of mine to interview Sting!

Hi everyone, Yesterday I got an email from a dear friend of mine: she works for Gioia, an important Italian magazine, and we're trying to arrange a lunch together one of these days. Well, guess what she says: "we'll have to wait until next week because on Tuesday I'm flying to London to interview Sting!" I jumped on my seat when I read her email... I asked her if I could go too, she said she'd try her best, but then the guys at Universal told her she couldn't take anyone with her... Well, at least the dream lasted for a few hours. Anyway, when she comes back I'm going to ask every detail off her, and I'll sure fill you in on any interesting news. Ciao Michele

The Virgin Megastore here in NYC was nicely stocked with the Japanese "...All This Time" when it was released. I ended up ordering it online somewhere, and one of my good friends enlightened me that Virgin had an ample supply on hand. They have a website - http://www.virginmegastore.com. Hi, I find myself in the position I am once every 3 or 4 years. I sit tonight trying to gauge how elusive the track Moon Over Bourbon Street 2003 will be. Should I try to get the Japanese version of the new single or wait it out hoping that a more widely available (and cheaper) european or american cd-single will eventially include this track. Past experience has proven that waiting almost always pays off. Except with the most recent release - All This Time. The fragile single was tough to get in the US. Which is too bad, because that alternate version of Fill Her Up is kinda cool. Plus, the Japanese version has three tracks that you could NEVER get in the us. Period. Buy the Japanese release or nothin. Someone posted a site on this mailing list that is in english and brokers japanese releases to Americans and presumably anyone else. I bought 'All This Time' on that site and I know many of you did. Anyone remember the site? Can anyone recommend a good site to quickly purchase a Japanese release? Amazon is too slow (although some of you get kick backs). It would be so much nicer to post these sites than have all of us over bidding for these cd's on ebay, don't you think? I find it ironic: "I'm never alone on the end of a phone" juxtaposed with the Eberhard Schoener collaboration "Why Won't(don't?) You Answer" It's a dollop dreary here in Northern Illinois today... Somehow, listening to The Police is making it all better, though. Funny how that works, eh? Well, "No Time This Time"... back to the trenches... Til Again, -Dave [Man in a Suitcase]

Hi everyone, First, a big thank-you to everyone who mailed me on- and off-list about "The Lazarus Heart"; I'm delighted that it appears on those CDs.:) Secondly, I saw the "Dumb And Dumberer" trailer too. Although I think it's nice when a new movie uses a Police track in that it could introduce people to the band who, like me, were just kids when they split up, I did feel a little annoyed that this use of the song probably fits into the mentality that it's just another nonsense-lyrics type song, an attitude that Sting himself wasn't thrilled about back when it came out and the band got a lot of flack about it. Interesting to see "Brimstone And Treacle" getting a DVD release under a new cover design, but it seems a shame that like the previous DVD, this doesn't include any extra scenes. I read that some of Sting's best bits ended up on the cutting-room floor, and it would've been cool to see the extra scenes.
