The list has been hit pretty badly by the badtrans virus, but there's a new virus popping up that is even more of a pest. If you receive an email with "Hi" as the subject line and which says the following: "How are you ? When I saw this screen saver, I immediately thought about you I am in a harry, I promise you will love it!" DO NOT OPEN THE ATTACHMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The attachment filename is gone.scr It will erase certain system files on your machine and forward itself to members of your address book... Wasn't his name something like David Hartly? That was a good version. I don't remember seeing him perform that more than twice (and then the video). I too, was thankful he didn't join in on that debacle at the end. What about when he said "hang on, I'm working" off to the side of the stage, was he getting heckled or was Trudie standing there waiting for him? He did look quite stunning, guess he felt that way too because it really came through in his presentation. Yes, he was the only presenter to read from a paper (besides John accepting his award). Mmmm, he did look good though. Matthew McConaghey WAS way out there, but we have to remember that this is the guy who was playing the bongos nude in the middle of the night. He just marches to the beat of his own drummer, that guy. Kinda scary. Different subject: While watching the U2 special on DirecTV last week I learned (or was reminded of) the Police (at was it Live Aid or Amnesty International?) handing over their instruments to U2 as a symbolic gesture that they were disbanding. What a waste. As much as I love Sting and his solo work, I miss the energy they created together. Listening to the Oysterhead CD makes me realize how much I miss the trio. Michelle

Hi folks, did anyone record the encore "If I ever lose my faith in you" (with a little snippet of "Sex machine") during the online webcast? In the meantime I recorded the ASF stream but unfortunately the broadcast stops after the song "Every breath you take" when the band left the stage. Hi All I' just finished my first view of the french DVD... Most significant detail on the show to me: This is not the Hounds Of Winter version from the CD!!! Different singing, different, well... Just different. After that. The DVD is region 0 which means it can be played everywhere. It's stated made in EU. The Sting and dots are RED like on the US release of the CD. Set list is the as Japanese CD without Mad About You (which as an amazing extract in the documentary, recorded in a hallway, all sat don on the floor). This means, yes: seven days and shape of my heart included... Don't very well about the quality because I've watched it on my PC, but the shows seems stunning. Less sure about the quality of the picture during the documentary... All in all, this DVD is AMAZING... Even features an instrumental remix of after the rain during the end credits, which are very funny by the way... Get your hands on it, as soon as you can!!! Chris Botti at the El Rey

My wife and I got to the El Rey last night about 7:30pm only to find a fairly long line waiting to get in the theater. Doors were supposed to open at 8pm... the show at 9pm. Around 7:45 I noticed Kipper walking from the parking lot across the street... at first I wasn't sure it was him ... I guess I was expecting that he would be dropped at the door... or enter behind the stage. He did go in early... Anyway around 8:30 they started letting people in. The place was filled with tables even in the areas that are supposed to be a dance floor. At first I was beginning to think we were going to be stuck at the back the whole night since the place was already crowded. We did manage to push ourselves to the front right of the stage... and to our surprise.. there sits at a table none other than the man himself... Sting! So we staked our place standing for the show about 5 feet away from Sting. I've met Sting several times... this is the first time i've asked him for a handshake. He seemed to be in a very cheery mood... I think one of the people sitting with him was his publicist... an older lady with reddish hair. I've seen her before but don't know her name. She was very friendly. Anyway after shaking his hand and a few words I made it back to the standing area next to his table. Just for the record someone brought in some sushi for 2-3 people at Sting's table... including Sting. Anyway Chris took the stage around 9:30pm... the show was being filmed for a Direct TV broadcast and possibly for a PBS special. Chris was incredible.... he was joined mid-way through the set by Shawn Colvin for 2 songs (they played the Sting song twice - so she was on for 3 songs actually) and later Sting joined for a Sinatra song and Moon Over Bourban St. Jason Rebello was also in the audience (sitting close to Sting) and he joined Chris on several songs. After the show everyone was walking around the audience... however Sting took somewhat of a safe position in the side stage area. I spoke to Kipper a bit... a really nice guy! It was around 12am and most people had left when they starting asking everyone without a wristband to leave. Sting, Chris and Kipper were still there. I think there was some gathering in the balcony area... but it seems that it would be very small. As we left Shawn Colvin was walking acorss the street to her car as well. We spoke to her a bit on our way across... she is also a super nice person. Many thanks to Maggie for suggesting I buy tickets last week! I know there are some mutual fans on the list.... U2 will play the Super Bowl half-time show. Was it TWO years ago that Sting played, or just one? Maggie
