Youth mixes needed !

Ok, I don't have a life, but I just discovered that Youth did not one but three remixes of the U2 track, "Night and Day". I already have the Great "Steel String mix", but am looking for the other two. Does someone have them ? Are they similar or totally different ? Thanks ! Sounds like it's going to be a good one. You could probably give it a little more space. I think it was Charlie Mingus that said it's not the notes that are important, it's the space between the notes. Also I couldn't understand the vocals. I'd leave the fx like they are but bring the dry vox up a few db. This is often a problem with stuff you've worked on for a while: you're so used to hearing what she's saying that you still hear it even though to a new listener it's buried behind the fx. Other than that keep tweaking and arranging. I wouldn't make it much longer, though. If you're going to add some other parts in you should take some sections out. While we're on this, I've got a remix I did of the new FSOL song up on acidplanet. I'm going to pull it down either tonight or tomorrow because I'm going to enter it in a contest. Groovetech Xmas archives

Seasons greetings to all. Is anyone else out there having trouble accessing the Groovetech archives at the mo (or have I just missed the important message tucked away on their site at the mo)? They posted Alex's Xmas Thursday teatime from Dec 12 and I was listening while wrapping my pressies last week. Ideal music for the occasion if anyone hasn't caught it yet. I have since tried to play his excellent selection of Xmas tunes to my mates but keep getting 'Requested file not found' errors on this and all archives in fact. I'm sure there was a dub version of 'God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen' in there somewhere and a host of other fine festive tunes that I have never heard before, well, at least not in that style. I would really love to take this to my folks for Christmas 'coz it will make a change from the usual Aled Jones/festive carols CDs they have and will blow their socks off. If anyone has managed to download it before their archives went screwy then please let me know details (ftp, etc.). Many thanks for any info and Merry Christmas an' all that... Hey Jason - First off - this is a really nice track. As you mentioned, some of the elements need a little more effect or texture. More specifically, I would say some of these elements could be in a more specific space. I also have two oter things I would like to add: 1) Maybe add some "grit" to some of the sounds. I can think of maybe adding some overdrive or distortion to a delay in some of the singing. 2) The bass: somehow I get the feeling it could be tweaked a little more - it seems a little "flat" to me (and I don't mean that from an EQing standpoint, more from a characteristic standpoint).
