So I went to see Fischerspooner tonight, which was a pretty wacky show that included Baseball Samurai outfits, crowd surfing, and a half-naked band. But I digress - after the show, these folks were handing out a 7 track cd by some band called Midnight Serenade. Track 5 is called "The Orb". Should any of you be intrigued by the track title, let me save you the pain by letting you know that this has no relation to The Orb whatsoever... its a terrible electro nightmare, with winning lyrics like "she dances by the glitter of the Orb". Heh. Made me laugh, though. =) rach

no, it wasn't. the original "my favorite things" was written in 1959 by rodgers & hammerstein for the original broadway version of "the sound of music" with mary martin. john coltrane played the song in various forms throughout the early sixties, then came the julie andrews film in 1965. that streisand x-mas album was not released until 1967. jack (aka I. It's not Julie Andrews. The original "Favorite Things" was done by Barbara Striesand (sp?) on one of her Christmas records.
