John- Nearly all the racing I've done in the 17 has been under the Portsmouth rule. I know that the 17 has been rated under PHRF, but I don't recall what the rating is. I believe that the original 23 was rated at 234, and it is a good bit faster than the 17. I used to have a book of PHRF ratings but I've moved about 20 times since then and I haven't seen it for years. Have you tried a website? I am finally getting the speed out of my M17 that you and some others have indicated she has. I would like to race under a "correct" rating so I can really judge how close I am to getting all the speed out of her. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks John
The Rudder Club of Jacksonville (Florida) rated my M17 for the Mug Race earlier this year. The provisional rating assigned was 295. Following is part of an E-mail from their measurer: Congrats on your new boat! The PHRF ratings listed in the U.S. Sailing Handicap book we use list your ratings as follows: Augusta - 264 Austin - 294 Percy Priest - 258 Sail Colorado - 313 Yralis - 264 No rating was shown for Lake Lanier -- David Fann Montgomery 17 Dulcibella On 7/29/02 12:55 AM, "Jerry Montgomery" <jmbn@innercite.com> wrote:
