Stan's stories of the 'fleet' are typical of the group - a gathering of friendly, helpful people who sail WrinkleBoats and have a bucket of fun engaging in Friendly Competition! There has been discussion amongst Corinthian minded sailors and myself to review and make modest but real changes to the scoring for the event to improve and 'level' the fleets. The scoring for the 2014 WICR & Ran-Tan will be as follows: Overall Low score WrinkleBoat. Low score for Modified WrinkleBoat <17 Feet Low score for Modified WrinkleBoat>17 Feet Low score for Stock M-17 Low Score for stock M-15 Low Score for stock S-17 All of the noted fleets will have a plaque on the "Jerry Montgomery Perpetual Trophy" (Mongo Cup) noting the Skipper's name/Fleet/Year Other fleets may be added. Ratings will be adjusted as needed for the modified boat(s) {;>) The spirit of the event is to encourage - Participation, friendly competition between supporters of the marques, and ideas for modifications that Stan can apply to his boat o>). We have had great 'friendly' events to date and want to encourage ALL types of the boats to participate and benefit from sharing with the other sailors. A primary goal being the improvement of sailing skills of all sailors, crew and equipment. There are some talented and experienced sailors in the group willing to share their knowledge with the rest of us - I know - and we keep asking questions. All who desire are invited. This is a group of people (beyond being sailors) that I am proud to consider 'best friends' and look forward to travel to other events so as to be able to share MORE WrinkleBoat experiences with the fleet. Stan's Rating will be adjusted (his off wind speed is devastatingly fast) congrats Stan- persistence pays off! Paul came to my rescue that weekend too. Thanks to all who came out - made my month!!
