Glad everyone seems to be satisfied with the mugs so-far. I will ship out the last order from my first shipment of mugs tomorrow. I shipped them out first come first served like it said on the webpage. When I ship your mugs I send you an email with a UPS tracking #. If you haven't gotten that email by tomorrow afternoon, then you'll be in the second round of orders shipped out. That next shipment of mugs is scheduled to arrive on my doorstep around the 20th. It got delayed a bit when I had to "up" the number of mugs to make sure everyone was covered. Don't worry! I'm not going anywhere and your mugs will be enroute to you as soon as I have 'em in my hot little hands. I will send out emails with your tracking numbers the day I ship them. As for t-shirts and or hats....I don't see why we couldn't do something like that. Let me recoup a little financially from the initial outlay for the big second order of mugs first. This is definitely a shoestring operation and the strings are pretty tight right this moment! Or if someone else wants to do it....go for it! And with respect to Todds pictures...two things....Todd I think your being modest! There are some spectacular shots there. And secondly, I hope I didn't offend and of the other Montyphotogs. There are some equally spectacular shots from numerous other folks as well. I loved looking at all of them. And as always, THANKS BILL! for putting them all on the photopage for us to enjoy. M-15 Center Board

I almost sold the boat. After 3 mo. of thinking about it and using ideas from the list I jury rigged a puller using all-thread and was able to pull down the center board. Thanks for all of the suggestions. What is the hot tip for a replacement center board. Captin Jim Sadler M-15

Sean, The coffee cup made it just fine and looks great. No - Looks excellent. David Wood did a grat job with the art and thanks to Sean for putting it all together.. I wonder if someone (Sean) will take the innitiative to create a T-Shirt with all three boats. If so, it would be nice to have something on the front (like MSOG above the pocket) with the majority of the Art on the back. I personally like pocket T's. However, either way would work. Todds Photos

Has anyone else noticed the number of downright spectacular photos posted on Bill's MSOG Photosite that are taken by Todd Mills? I just looked at the newly posted pics of the Maine trip. Obviously we know that Todd puts his Montgomery to better use than just about anyone on this list, but it appears that he also knows his way around a camera pretty well. Beautiful shot's Todd. Thanks for sharing them!

Loose footed main tack attachement for M15

I've had my new loose footed main for awhile now and finally realized I may have set it up improperly. Should the tack be attached to a slider in the boom track which is then attached to a outhaul block? Or, should the tack be attached directly to the outhaul block? Norm Bundek M15 #172

When I wrote to the folks of the Maine cruise to get boat info for the M15's, I specifically commented on the photo talent from the participants on the cruise. Sean is right... there are some serious photos there. The Maine album is completed. However, someone should verify that I introduced the folks with their name on the correct photo (please). The M15 albums aren't finished. I do hope to get info on the boats and owners so we can leave the albums on the site. You will see that each photo is labeled with photo credits. Thanks to Doug Kelch for that suggestion. It added literally hours to the project as each photo was cropped and then labeled, renamed, posted and then labeled with the person who took the photo. I like the idea so much that future albums will have artists labeled on each photo unless of course one person takes the entire bunch. About the photos. They were taken in a large format (size). Since I need the shots to end up at 1024 X 768, it leaves me lots of room to crop and edit. So, some of the photo credits may not look like the shot it was cropped from. Some close ups started out as a far away shots. No magic there, just Photo Shop and time. Look at Rick Langer's shot of the Nutshell pram, or his shot of the starburst over "Busca Brisas" (page 2). Todd supplied by far the most of the photos compared to the other shooters, so it stands to reason that you'll see lots of his photos. Next Maine cruise would change that, if the others will only take more photos. Bill "Photo Site"

More Keel-a-monster stuff

I did a little grinding and sanding on my M17 centerboard today before taking to the sand blaster and made a couple observations: 1. The "parting line" appearance on Sean's keel also is apparent on mine. At first I wondered if the keel was made in three parts, which did not make sense. But then I reasoned that the line is about coincident with where the keel exits the trunk. But my keel is not pitted other than along the leading and trailing edges. In the middle, it is quite smooth and the paint is in pretty good shape. The "parting line" effect is just a difference in elevation between the two relative surfaces on either side of the line; and if worn or corroded, it was done before the keel was painted the last time. Further, the boat has no evidence that it ever sat in the water. Anotherwords, no bottom paint, growth, or discoloration. Therefore, how did this irregularity in the surfaces happen? Any ideas? 2. Centerboard pennant-This was pretty much fused together and I had to go at it with a hacksaw and cold chisel and then drive the pin out after a liberal application of liquid wrench. Additionally, the pennant (5/16"-2 part Dacron braid) was knotted up around the shackle. Somewhere I read that you needed to remove 4" of center core before knotting the 5/16" line around the shackle. It could be that this knot was wider than the slot, contributing to the sticking centerboard. a. Does anyone have a picture of what the shackle/pennant arrangement looks like? b. Has anyone tried to do a rope splice of the 2 part braid around the shackle? -Is there enough room when the centerboard is up against the top of the trunk? c. Has anyone made a custom pennant exit out the top of the trunk to better seal the exit? Just curious. There usually are some great replies. Steve Shenkel <>< _/) M17 # 263 Glendale, AZ
