This is great! The snippet is too short to make out how the track really will sound (full length is 8 minutes), but the sound and feel of it is really great. I also listened to the Roundtable : 6 Music : Rock & Alt radio show and at 1:47:12 - you can hear a 2 minute part of the song, lots of tempo changes, harmony changes and texture changes. Some of the sounds build on the sounds I love in Metal on Metal. The voice is very nice - at least 3 layers which interact with each other in an indeed smooth way. Also - I think it don't sound even close to the new songs they've played live the last years. Some quotes from Andrew Collin and guests reviewers: "They are the German Jane's Addiction" "They've been going 100 years..." "Nice to see they've been using the last 20 years productively - but some say 'What ain't broke, don't fix it'" "Very good album - it doesn't differ a lot from the song we just heard" "Kraftwerk aren't in the business of differing a lot" "DNA of everything we hear today" "Very, very good indeed" "It's too good; in fact, it makes us all feel silly" "Funny enough for such a forward thinking, futuristic band it sounds a bit dated... but it's very good" "I'd like to hear the rest of the album, it's quality..." In regard to bootlegs, I think the Kraftwerk web community is missing an online bootleg cd/lp/dvd guide, like there are for other groups (U2 for instance). "Der Android"

The WDR radio play "Der Android" by David Gieselmann and Christoph Kalkowski from 2001 gives credit to Florian Schneider and Ralf Huetter for the music and to "Studio elektro-automatisch / Klingklang" for production. Unsurprisingly, the music is simply a compilation from old Kraftwerk albums, but does anyone know if the radio play was *really* co-produced at Klingklang? Thanks, Klaus Zaepke

Secondly, EMI owns no rights to Kraftwerk material pre-1975 if I'm not mistaken (the Radio-Activity album was the first released on Capitol, back in 1975), and this live CD contains only pre-1975 materials. These two facts alone should prove it a bootleg in my book, but I'd like to be sure. Since this CD is and has been on sale basically everywhere for the past five years it's quite hard to claim it's a bootleg, but at the same time I've never seen or heard any official statements from anybody claiming it IS an official release. Would you be able to confirm or deny its legality? Collectors' question

The German EMI promotion campaign for "Tour de France Soundtracks" mentions TV adverts at MTV and Viva, as well as radio adverts. If anybody has been able to record those, I'd be interested in copies. Trade material is available. (The promo campaign also mentions a "huge foto story (tbc)" for Max magazine, by the way, but there's no such feature in the latest Max issue...) Thanks, Klaus Zaepke
