As promised, here are my rips of the Love Trance 12" in one zip file as wavs. I didn't really mess with them except for optimizing the volume in Audacity a little without clipping (LT hardly at all .01% and WTIL by about 1 db, no clipping). Left all audio artifacts intact. http://www.mediafire.com/?8jxccymju7ju1um Whilst I was in my mediafire account, I also discovered an original CD rip of The K Foundations K Cera Cera in FLAC format I made for another list member a few months back: http://www.mediafire.com/?2cah88qwk46o2we Will be happy to convert any of these to any other format, provide unaltered files, etc. I'm working on my own KLF digital rips (1987, Who Killed The Jams? WTIL Story, Shag Times, etc. and will also share these with any and all, even the haters ;-) I've been collecting KLF since 1991 and have a pretty deep collection...happy to share! Little tired but have tomorrow off except for a few appointments so will discuss the LT 12" tomorrow. In the spirit of friendship, Dan
Thanks Dan! (and thanks again as I was the original person who asked for K Cera Cera.) This is a bit like I had in mind a while back when I suggested we try and collect as much of the stuff as possible and make Arkive v2. There are definitely a number of tracks that are hard to find, especially the vinyl-only ones that have been ³loved² perhaps a few too many times to sound decent. ;) I¹m still willing and able to try and sort this outif I made a master list of tracks and put it on a Google spreadsheet where people could sign up to record tracks for collation and storage would we have any takers? -- Micah Stupak micah@benthic.cc From: Dan Hutchins <danthutchins@gmail.com> Reply-To: "All bound for Mu-Mu Land." <klf@mailman.xmission.com> Date: Thu, 25 Aug 2011 20:35:23 -0400 To: "All bound for Mu-Mu Land." <klf@mailman.xmission.com> Subject: [KLF] Love Trance with love... http://www.mediafire.com/?8jxccymju7ju1um
Count me in! I have a pristine "Who Killed The Jams?" which I transferred to digital, 1987, CDs of Shag Times & WTIL Story, grey vinyl Grim Up North, TOTP 3 AM 7", January: WTIL, the Japanese boxes, all the released PVC rarities (would have to ask him about sharing these first as he's been a true friend and I don't want to cut into his action). And much more than this. Two years ago PVC gave me a partial inventory of what he salvaged from Jimmy and the doubters would be STUNNED at what exists. I've pestered the guy for a full invenrory and he refuses to answer, but the guy has a good thing going and I'm positive he's not using the proceeds to enrich himself. Anyway, happy to share wirh any and all. I'll never sell this stuff so I don't care about tanking my own ebay prices LOL! Listen, all I was trying to say yesterday is I really love this music and would like to hear more of it. It's their art and if they don't wish to share that's fine. Howwever, most don't even remember their antics. Every five years or so I come across an article in the UK press basically reminding people who they were and why the mattered. They pulled-off one of the greatest rock-indie-punk-art specticles in history and the average 20 year old is much more aware of the Pet Shop Boys & Erasure than the KLF. They should be timeless legends, but unlike the Stones or The Beatles the hits were pop hits and not rock hits, there were no untimely deaths, and their ideas became a little too out there for the mainstream I'm not saying they should go on Oprah or reform (on the contrary, they should never reform at least musically). But I think it would really help their solo efforts if they made some public media appearances and just reminded people who they were. There's no need to answer every question and solve every mystery (truth be told, all the true fans know there was no plan anyway...it was all just synchronicity and temporary genious). I happen to know for a fact that twice as much was recorded or partially recorded as was released. Again, it's their art and it's their right to do what they want. However, the years have passed, their statement has stood, but few remember. I for one would be pleased to make a hefty donation to a worthy cause in exchange for some more KLF goodness. Whilst I doubt signicant portions of the finished Black Room exists, I'm going to try and get a hold of Stent and see what he has. Maybe we'll get to hear some of it in exchange for supporting a worthy cause? Just some thoughts. Again, count me in for your archive project. Hey Dan (and all), while i don't agree with your position on the KLF's back catalog and your criticism of B&J's attitude, i applaud you for sharing these on the list. Ive been a long time lurker and i must say I've always been irked by the complete lack of sharing on here while PVC sells his regular merchandise (no offense Tim). While i have nothing against Tshirts etc, i find it completely out of whack that there is a CD sale of original KLF content going on regularly without anyone blinking an eye. In my mind, if there ever was a music artist we should be freely sharing the work amongst enthusiasts, its B&J. We could easily set up torrents through http://openbittorrent.com/ for example and a private website/blog with listing each others content. That would avoid these direct download sites and if theres enough people downloads should go quick. But it might be too complicated for some ? :) Anyway, glad to see this list going once again…. The fun is in collecting the originals which is why I've been doing it for so many years, spending many thousands in the process. The scarcity and price make this pasttime prohibitive for most. I enjoy owning the originals, but happy to share with those who may not have the money or who just can't find the things. Hell, since the global economy exploded like the Death Star I don't have the money any more LOL! Personally, I would never share anything in print such as The White Room, Chill Out, Tardis, etc. as the guys probably still get royalties and that would be unfair to them. If it's deleted or unreleased it's fair game in my opinion. Dan On Aug 26, 2011, at 9:58 AM, Xavier <alunare@gmail.com> wrote:

If this is only to fund the M25 spin, then there should be no problem sharing the contents of the CDs after the fact. But as far as i can see, that has not happened on this list. This is more a comment on the list as a whole and not a criticism of Tim's activities per se….. I agree, I think PVC does it because like all of us, he is a fan. I've been buying all of the t-shirts he has put on sale for a year, and plan to continue doing so. As Dan mentioned, anything extra from the sales probably goes towards the M25, and anything else he and the gang might be planning. As for the CDs and such, as long as Bill and Jimmy are fine with it, I have no problems with PVC bundling them with the shirts, or selling them outright. Hey Dan (and all),
while i don't agree with your position on the KLF's back catalog and your criticism of B&J's attitude, i applaud you for sharing these on the list.
Anyway, glad to see this list going once again….

This is a bit like I had in mind a while back when I suggested we try and collect as much of the stuff as possible and make Arkive v2. There are definitely a number of tracks that are hard to find, especially the vinyl-only ones that have been “loved” perhaps a few too many times to sound decent. ;) I’m still willing and able to try and sort this out…if I made a master list of tracks and put it on a Google spreadsheet where people could sign up to record tracks for collation and storage would we have any takers?

Well, looks like there¹s pretty good response to people wanting a good, HQ archive of KLF. Excellent! Here¹s how I think we should go: I will make a master list of releases and then scattered tracks next week (I¹m moving this weekend) and make it as a Google doc so folks can sign up for recording/ripping what is available. I think it makes sense to go in stages. First start with the KLF, then move on to JAMs, Timelords, Disco 2000, etc. I¹d also like to focus on the vinyl-only stuff first as that will be hardest to get. And, yes, nothing in-print (we all know what that is). Who has a good idea for storage/distribution? Part of me thinks torrents aren¹t the way to go after the initial distribution is done (i.e. ³I just ripped KLF005R, grab it here²), it¹s a lot harder to get the tracks when people stop seeding. Being able to download them somewhere is a lot better, though of course it opens up the project to legal difficulties. I mean, Bill and Jimmy, odds are they won¹t care (especially if Bill thinks we need to get over it ;) ), but lawyers can always get involved. Can't advise as to storage, but in terms of the tracks themselves I think they should be made available unaltered, then the various audio geniuses on the list can tinker with them and upload their own "remasters." Dan On Aug 26, 2011, at 12:41 PM, Micah Stupak <micah@benthic.cc> wrote:
Well, looks like there’s pretty good response to people wanting a good, HQ archive of KLF. Excellent!
Here’s how I think we should go:
I will make a master list of releases and then scattered tracks next week (I’m moving this weekend) and make it as a Google doc so folks can sign up for recording/ripping what is available.
I think it makes sense to go in stages. First start with the KLF, then move on to JAMs, Timelords, Disco 2000, etc. I’d also like to focus on the vinyl-only stuff first as that will be hardest to get. And, yes, nothing in-print (we all know what that is).
Who has a good idea for storage/distribution? Part of me thinks torrents aren’t the way to go — after the initial distribution is done (i.e. “I just ripped KLF005R, grab it here”), it’s a lot harder to get the tracks when people stop seeding. Being able to download them somewhere is a lot better, though of course it opens up the project to legal difficulties. That was my thinking, too: just high-bitrate FLACs initially and then the ³remastering² process can be at a slower pace. Some people might not want pops and so on removed as well, so I figured keep the initial recordings available as well. -- Micah Stupak micah@benthic.cc From: "Dan T. I have everything, right down to obscure b-sides, I ripped the vinyl myself and I have always considered them to be of good quality even though the vinyl rips are old WAV files. ________________________________ From: Micah Stupak <micah@benthic.cc> To: All bound for Mu-Mu Land. <klf@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Fri, 26 August, 2011 19:27:58 Subject: Re: [KLF] new arkive (was Re: Love Trance with love...) Yes, both sides. I will look into uploading it to media fire at some point this weekend. That's very kind of you. Never mind the animosity! On Thu, Aug 25, 2011 at 8:35 PM, Dan Hutchins <danthutchins@gmail.com>wrote:
As promised, here are my rips of the Love Trance 12" in one zip file as wavs. I didn't really mess with them except for optimizing the volume in Audacity a little without clipping (LT hardly at all .01% and WTIL by about 1 db, no clipping). Left all audio artifacts intact. http://www.mediafire.com/?8jxccymju7ju1um
Whilst I was in my mediafire account, I also discovered an original CD rip of The K Foundations K Cera Cera in FLAC format I made for another list member a few months back: http://www.mediafire.com/?2cah88qwk46o2we
Will be happy to convert any of these to any other format, provide unaltered files, etc.
