Converting Andy's White Room to NTSC
Anyone out there well versed in DVD ripping, etc? I've been trying to convert The White Room to NTSC but am having problems. The framerate is an unusual 20fps instead of the usual 25fps PAL. The result when I try to convert is that the film clocks in at 35m while the soundtrack continues for another 15m. I've been messing about with TMPGenc but, ah, it just ain't workin! Anyone have suggestions out there? While I can play PAL DVDs my multisystem DVD player is cheapo and not user friendly remote-wise and basically a pain in the ass to use. :) Let me also chime in, however, and say how fantastic these DVDs are! Never thought I'd get to see KLF vids in such great quality! -paul
I authored it with TMGenc DVD author. Download it from their site and use the programme to extract the video from the DVD (you'll have 30 days). It is 25 fps PAL I just checked! Andy
Have you also tried Virtualdub? I think you can adjust the framerate as well as rip the whole soundtrack as a WAV, then re-encode your new uncompressed AVI and WAV together to ensure audio synch. Check out VCDHelp.com (also called DVDHelp.com amongst other names) and there are dozens of forums and tutorials that cover just about every aspect of video ripping/encoding/conversion etc. Andrew Lee <andy@adlee.co.uk> wrote:I authored it with TMGenc DVD author.
