Make sure you use the capitals properly. I use the CoffeCup Ftp program, its not very good but I have no problems accessing the ftp site. And I'm behind a firewall. I'm sure that just using the capitals will resolve the problem (in most cases)
Oh, I tried it with and without the caps, with and without the space in the middle. I suspect that site works for most people most of the time, I'm not criticising it. I don't know what the problem is, it might even be something else on my machine, though I can't think what. Ultimately not a big deal. ----- Original Message ----- From: Rubberhead To: klf@mailman.xmission.com Sent: Saturday, December 13, 2003 3:15 PM Subject: [KLF] KLF PLus - case sensitive Make sure you use the capitals properly. Try using renigade.dyndns.org as the site name instead. To see if it's you or your client, try the following: In Windows, do Start/Run and enter "cmd" (without the quotes) in the window that appears. If you're using Windows 95, 98 or Millenium, entert "command" instead and click OK. A command prompt should appear on screen. In it enter the following [ note: '<-' means 'press enter' ]: ftp <- open renigade.dyndns.org <- Wait for the login message to appear, then enter: KLF Plus <- KLF Plus <- That should see you logged in. To exit, enter: quit <- exit <- I've pasted the full content of the command prompt text below for reference: C:\Documents and Settings\chrisp>ftp ftp> open renigade.dyndns.org Connected to renigade.dyndns.org. 220-Serv-U FTP Server v4.0 for WinSock ready... 220-This is RMStringer/Renigade: 220- 220- Welcome to my new Renigade2 FTP Server. If you're behind a firewall - for example, you're trying to access the ftp site from work - you may have problems if your company has blocked FTP traffic (Port 21) on the firewall. Generally speaking most companies WILL block this form of traffic as this is one of the most commont ports exploited by trojans, denial-of-service attacks, etc. If you have an understanding IT department, you could ask them to add a rule to allow incoming and outgoing (an FTP session is actually two sessions, one outgoing and one incoming) to rm's server. They may need you to provide the IP address of his box (which is 24.9.238.51) as the rule will be set to only permit FTP traffic two and from that address. If your company is List X or GSI (or your countries equivalent) then you'll probably be out of luck. -----Original Message----- From: klf-bounces+munkie=cloud9ine.com@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:klf-bounces+munkie=cloud9ine.com@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Rubberhead Sent: 13 December 2003 15:15 To: klf@mailman.xmission.com Subject: [KLF] KLF PLus - case sensitive Make sure you use the capitals properly. The pass and login are as follows: KLF Plus just cut and past the KLF Plus into your ftp prog and the address is renigade2.dyndns.org. After that I cannot help you. I am going to try to have a WWW site up in the next week or so with ftp access link3d to it. I will let everyone know when it happens.
