I've always gone with the assumption, much like the quality ofthe sample off "Slave to Rhythm" used in the Orb's "A huge everygrowing pulsating etc. etc.", they (jimmy or alex) had access to sourcetapes. Remember, when you're in the business of remixing stuff, record companies often send you DATs with each track from the mastertwo-inch recorded on them, SMPTE'd as well, if you're lucky. So,access to the raw material is not as rare or unlikely as you mightthink. -----Original Message----- From: Maarten Bouwes [mailto:bouwes@hotmail.com] Sent: Wednesday, March 8, 2006 12:45 PM To: klf@mailman.xmission.com Subject: [KLF] Jesus Jones - After The Love I'vegot a 12" version of Jesus Jones on the "more protein" label. Containes3 mixes: A: 10 glorious years mix; B: Orbital House Mix and PirateRadio Edit. It's quite allright by the way. Howdid B&J managed to get the sample off the song? I mean, ifyou listen closely, there's no way one could remove the sample withoutthe surrounding music. Or do you just filter it out? How does it work? Maarten
Hmmm...first, they mentioned Boy George on 1987, then they swapped samples: did a remix for After The Love, and also used the vocals with permission on Chill Out...
