Am I mistaken.... or when I was listening to "James May's Man Lab" tonight (on BBC HD - it was a repeat) did I not hear the same sample (or most probably the original) that's used in LTTT 808 Bass version...? Here is the clip as played on BBC HD, skip to 3:50(ish) and insert your own "Partys, and party music.." sample. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtFkn4gRt-M Now listen to this, I think the same sample played at the beginning of my favourite remix of LTTT, the 808 Bass version is the same piece of music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9rR0c0pSwM All novelty aside, this is one of the most satisfying things about being into the age of samples that was presented to us in the early 90s. I now listen predominantly to BBC Radio 2, and there are countless tracks I hear month after month that have been the original source for the pioneers of the 90s sound. A good example is: Original track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTFCwKvlKZo (Automatic Lover - D Dee Jackson) Track which samples: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4vZqpEnF30 (Out There - Friends of Matthew) Even 2 decades later, the tracks that I was fascinated by as a teenager reveal themselves to me at random times. God bless the sample.
