It seems to me everyone is getting off track here. One thing should be kept in mind: What is the point? Are you trying to revitalize K to celebrate the 20th? Or just to litter the land with a bunch of CDs by our favorite band? If the target audience is 'everyone' then the track list needs to be tailored to everyone. If some random 30-something found one of these and popped it in to give it a try and first thing he heard was Kylie Said Trance he'd probably stop right there and toss it out the window. If the point is to celebrate the 20th, then that's what the CD should be about, and kept down to one disc to make it easier on everyone. A couple years ago, also encouraged by a post by Mr Milne, I compiled a History CD which I quite enjoy and feel it flows well. So here's the tracklist if anyone is interested. If one was to tape the edge of a CD jewel case to stop it opening, you could use a piece of bluetak and stick it pretty much anywhere. Also good at head height. And what about a sticker on saying 'Take me ah ha ah-ha'. Sorry, yes i have been thinking about all this faaaaaaaaaaaar too much, i must stop mixing home-made red wine with moonshine 'cause those mushrooms are realy getting to me.

ALLOFMP3 SUED BY U.S. RECORD LABELS Just before our final emailer of 2006, we read that AllofMP3.com had been sued by the major record labels in New York. But the site is based in Russia. It is unclear how any U.S. court ruling can have an effect on this Russian site. The record labels claim that AllofMP3 has been profiting by selling copies of music without their permission. AllofMP3 typically charges under US$1 for an entire album and just a few cents per track. By contrast, an album at Apple Computer Inc.'s iTunes Music Store and other licensed services typically costs about US$10 and a song 99 cents. Also, AllofMP3 does not have DRM on their tracks and they can be recopied for use on other players and computers. AllofMP3 has maintained that by paying royalties to a Russian licensing group, the Web site is in compliance with Russian laws. The RIAA has refused to accept payment from the Russian licensing group ROMS. It is interesting to note the flipside in China, where major labels have pressed CDs to be sold ONLY in China at extremely low prices. Some of these have been smuggled out of China and are sold cheap relative to US/UK CD prices. They are properly packaged and have good sound. You can find some in major record stores in $ingapore selling at around S$10 a disc = US$6.60. I'll agree with that. The funny thing is, most KLF "complete single" collections seem to fit comfortably on an 80 minute CD. You can tweak the tracklisting, add interesting things like "The Magnificent" or "Go To Sleep" or whatever, and edit things - but generally, everything will fit (with not much to spare, snugly) on a CDR - if you pick all the singles from JAMS23 to 2K. Probably not. From my point a view, I'm moving house in late February, so that'll take up a couple of months (and also keep me off-line probably for a bit). As far as snobbery is concerned, this is why I though a "scientific" approach might be worthwhile. We either: (a) say "fuck it, ALL the single edits - including KSTJ - and the "Pure Trance Originals only", and create a "pure" best of or (b) we create a CD of rarities, using the alleged number of releases (KLF6T - 6 copies, ETERNA1 - 20 copies, KLF92PROMO3 - 20 copies, etc) to choose the rarest of the rare. But these are very different projects. I've been thinking ... maybe a double CD is not a good idea (although it's a nice nod to the Orb's equivalent greatest hits). The "Truckstop JAMs" CD should just be singles, and made to look cheap (we probably don't have a choice on that aspect!) I'll try digging up all the stuff I can find. Ok, a tracklist proposal; I would love to see the Kylie In A Trance (extended) track. It's featured on some (rare) bootlegs (the ones I HAVENT got :p). Ofcourse followed by the 'evil edit' of WTIL. The KLF Studio DAT recordings would be great also. The Goa mix of WTIL (one sided bootleg, orb related??) What about Madrugada Bandulu? As an intro/outtro track i'd say the intermezzo on Choc Ice 2 (Tammy version) 'they travel the world in their ice-cream van (..). Would love to hear that on this compilation, also as a contribution to Scott Piering. Starting with this one following the track from BTBB, wtil evil edit (since BTBB is the line from ricardo after the intermezzo of Scott). I for one think that the pure trance/chill out era is the most interesting part of the KLF reign. And just the rare stuff indeed..! Will it be pure KLF stuff or will it contain some early moody boys stuff as well (What is dub)? Maybe some early Cauty/ORB stuff. Should it be danceable music or just music which reminds you of them good ol' days?Am curious about your reactions!
