Hard drives are so cheap these days you could buy a 200gb external and just keep it disconnected from the PC to avoid corruption from virii and just hook it up when you need some tracks. Keep decent quality mp3s or lossless mp4s for common use. -paul

I think it's safe to say that "Mummy Don't" is more of an Orb title than a KLF title, and if it was recorded early 1989 it certainly shows more commercial savvy than "Tripping on Sunshine" or the "Kiss EP". Two possibilities: (1) it wasn't called "Mummy Don't" originally, but "3 AM Eternal (Blue Danube)" and the refined, or (2) if "3AM" had been released autumn 1988, possibly in its flamenco style, rather than summer 1989, this track would have been an Orb "companion single". Bare in mind, Alex compiled the "What Time is Love" story, and the lines between KLF and Orb in mid-to-late 1989 were very blurred. Did "Chill Out" contain some of Alex's bits, and has "Space" eradicated everything he contributed ... I wonder ...? Some advice and help (OT, but needed)

Hi everyone, Finally, after about 9 months of prevaricating, I've finally decided to start drastically cutting down on my music collection, converting everything to digital files, and selling all but the barest minimum of CDs and vinyl ... So, how should I do it? I'm tempted to store them as lossless files on an Ipod and also as mp3s on DVDroms and also, possible, on a back-up external harddrive. What do people think? Any suggestions? Of course, this does mean my Kollection might, in part, being ebay-bound quite soon! John

Yeah, I got the stamp book on Saturday and wondered about the addresses as well. The thing that cought my eye today is that The aquarium Gallery now have an MP3 section. You all thinking what I'm (post blacksmoke) thinking? The section is not open yet but I guess they'll get soem hits today. Andy

I'm sure someone may have asked this before, but ... if "Mummy Don't" was recorded in 1987, where do (a) the "Eternaaaals" (presumably recorded 88/89 - by the same "chorus" as "Doctoring the Tardis"?) and (b) the Jesus Loves You samples come from? Presumably it was actually recorded summer 1989. Do the sleeve notes give a good history of each track? I was under the impression that "mummie don't" came *before* 3AM - and while the first minute is pretty lame, I like it after that I agree that the second song ("sail") is complete and utter crap, but the rest of the songs I enjoy - especially "yungle" (intended for "cydonia"?), "chromatik", "steel horse", and "sun of" and the packaging is really wonderful - for those that aren't familiar with it, it's packaged in a reproduction of an "OCB" papers package (http://www.paradox.co.uk/images/smoking/skins/regular/ocb-p.jpg) with the CD itself in a sleeve that approximates a sheet of "foldy" filters - plus it comes with 4 prints, and a small brown envelope with four small badges and a *personalized* "thank-you" note really incredible and beautiful packaging! and while I'm on the subject of malicious damage's packaging, I have to mention their transit kings stuff as well - the medal that came with the "token EP" is an *actual* *medal*, and came in an envelope with a numbered "tranist reciept" that was again *personalized* (the "journey" being recorded from london to my city) I have to say that I am incredibly impressed with malicious damage: their releases and packaging are, to me, the epitome of commercial art at this time I cannot recommend these two releases highly enough
