I wasn't aware "The Magnificent" was still available - I take it that means "Help" is still available too? Of course, this probably means its the LEAST rare KLF track (being still in circulation). Oh, well ... I'm not charging anything for the compilation (about ten people have asked for a copy, and I'll send them as soon as I can) and I hope no one else does if they copy it on (and also, of course, that they buy "Help" in they can - probably the finest mid-nineties compilation of "Britpop" going). Blimey, it's been a few years since I've posted anything on this list. Anyway, the obvious place to look for UK music copyright info is the MCPS - the people who collect the royalties for record companies..... http://www.mcps-prs-alliance.co.uk/aboutcopyright/ Basically, copyright in the European Union ends 70 years after the death of the author. So, unless something terrible happens, you're probably looking at least 110 years before you'll be able to legally copy B&J's work! Regardless of the fact that B&J have deleted their back catalogue (Ie, stopped further production), they still own the copyright of their material and therefore could take action against anyone infringing that copyright.......if they wanted to (but it would seem unlikely and extremely hypocritical if they did!!). Of course the copyright of a lot of their material is complicated further because of the samples of other artistes - OK, so B&J might not give a toss if someone makes a copy of 1987 - but would Abba's lawyers be so happy? Has anyone else in the UK noticed that C4 is running a series of adverts for a forthcoming programme on the top 100 something (pop songs, uk songs ?)...in the advert at the end there are 3 tiny pyramid logos run along the bottom...so maybe the KLF will get a mention ? John PS - Incidentally, the E-Train/Go To Sleep track I extracted from an mp3 of the "White Room Movie" soundtrack (the actual music of the film, rather than the unreleased album) and I've uploaded that small track as an mp3 to: http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/klf-history/. The first part of the track seems to be an instrumental, along the lines of KLF8R's b-side, but it sounds different - could this be a bit of KLF8T, I wonder? It's certainly not on the "White Room" album demos. The next part of the mp3 (which features in the film where Bill and Jimmy build a fire) is "Go To Sleep", but with an extended chorus and solo vocals from Maxine. Again, maybe a 12" version for KLF8T?
