. I just got my new Linux system up and running, internet and all. It is the Mint distro. (My first choice was SUSE but I couldn't figure out how to get internet setup so it was "useless"). Now I fiddled with Xfractint years ago and was less than totally impressed. Has it been improved recently? Anyone here have experience with it and can give me some feedback? I wonder if it will have better performance in Linux then DOS fractint under DOS/Windoze. And I cant find it online!? Where is the current version for download? .

Try your package manager (Synaptic, I think Linux Mint uses). v 20.4.10-2 is in Debian Sid repository. Don't know if that's "current" or not. -- David gnome@hawaii.rr.com authenticity, honesty, community http://clanjones.org/david/ http://dancing-treefrog.deviantart.com/

There have been improvements over the past several years.

That depends on the machine's capability. Personally, I will stay with the original FractInt 20.4.12 version over the XFractInt counterpart.

Try going to the following location, and go to the directory path of your choice: http://www.fractint.org/ftp/ Sincerely, P.N.L. -------------------------------------- Why do most folks hate cynics so much?
