Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:
We have had our share of PI. It's time to move on to the square
root of 2. Today's image shows a sample of what can happen when
the formula Z^(sqrt(2))+C is iterated sqrt(2) levels up the
hyperladder when no function is applied.
The first thing that happens is the parent fractal, which is a
shapeless mass of large bays with a very long zig-zagging
filament (main spike) extending north. Today's scene lies near
the point where this filament connects to one of the smaller
bays.
The minibrot that lies at the center of today's image is even
more shapeless than its parent, and to make things worse, it
lies in a rather difficult area of the parent, where the very
high maxiter makes the calculation go slow. Luckily, the web
sites can speed up the viewing considerably.
Considering all this, I rated the image at a 6-1/2, one-half
point of which is a reward for the not-quite-successful coloring
effort.
The name "Squarely Rooted" explains itself.

Lots of sun and a temperature of 84F 29C made today's conditions
near ideal here at Fractal Central. A few minor showers popped
up in the afternoon around the area, but they stayed away from
FC. The fractal cats were unusually restless most of the day,
leading me to suspect that an unwanted cat was prowling nearby.
The day of the humans was nothing at all like the day of the
cats (or the night of the living dead). It consisted mostly of
totally routine stuff made only a little more interesting by
unwarranted references to flesh-eating zombies. The next FOTD
will be posted when I consider it ready. Until that uncertain

I'v been fractint swirling for a while, to end finding a junction in what i
belived being a fractal phenomenon who grow thru time. Their junction set a
stability thru fractal creation and probably different level (thru the web)
of fractal possibility. I'am working at trying to make a 3d fractal out of
apophysis i just don't get it. Highly cynergical program with no reset, i
observed, just drive more and more fractal, i switched to a long serie of
swestica and closed the process until later. Some people on this line may
be more lucky has i'am with it and actually do 3d fractal creation..... For
this fractint frame i'am happy this fractal side end up super clear,
although
i could add depness i'am pretty satisfied to what it become... I design
another google site to mirror my creation, until it fail like the last
one.. Just about to test it.

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:
Today we apply the cotangent function to the Z^(PI)+C fractal
and calculate it PI levels up the hyperladder. The result is a
fractal that closely resembles the 'true' PI fractal, though it
is skewed and rotated a bit to the right.
Today's 'mammoth' minibrot lies near a much larger minibrot in a
tiny disconnected bit of debris just north of the negative
X-axis of the parent fractal.
The rating of an 8 indicates that I consider the image to be an
improvement over previous PI fractal attempts.
The name "Cotangent PI" tells where the image came from.
The calculation time of 4-4/5 minutes is disagreeably slow, but
the image is worth it, at least IMO.

The day here at Fractal Central began with low clouds and fog.
The fog and clouds cleared away by late morning, leading to a
very pleasant afternoon with lots of photoshop (aka Kodachrome)
blue sky decorated with the puffy white clouds that make a
picture postcard so picturesque. The temperature of 81F 27C
just made things better. The fractal cats had a relaxing day
basking in the tiny sliver of sunlight that is just starting to
come in their window as the sun angle grows lower.
The humans had an uneventful day. FL still feels a bit
triumphant over yesterday's victory in our little disagreement.
I let her feel she had won, while still claiming a morale
victory for myself however. The next FOTD will be posted when
the right time arrives. Until whenever that might be, take
care, and fight for what you know is right, but when you find
it is wrong, be ready to switch.

I'am not proud of myself i set up my self in trans again and disturbed
people with it. I deserve a few wipe shot. I light on my computer to is
maximum tolerance in
multi tasking and cannot maintain myself. The deal is what i found thru

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:
Today's image might or might not be a fractal. It's all in the
opinion of the beholder. The image is actually a scene in one
of the spiral patches of yesterday's image, but what we see is
not a legitimate fractal, it is an image created at a magnitude
of almost 10^14, which is beyond the range of resolution of the
Fractint math routine.
This presents difficulties in calculating today's image with
programs other than Fractint. The resolution breakdown, which
creates the venitian-blinds effect, is particular to the
Fractint math routine, and if the parameter file is run under
other programs, a different image will result. A program using
a routine with a greater resolution limit will produce an image
with full resolution, which will be a more accurate image for
sure, but will miss the particular distortion that is featured
in today's image.
I chose today's imperfect image to be the FOTD because I have
never seen such a curious math breakdown before this. Since the
image is artificial, I could not give it a rating, but this does
not mean it is totally worthless.
The calculation time of 2-2/3 minutes is admittedly slow. The
web sites will eliminate most of the wait however.
