I'd also recommend 1930 for a 'normal' Merzbow release. I also enjoy finding the oddball releases, and I have two that I'd recommend. The first is a collaboration with Christoph Heemann entitled Sleeper Awakes on the Edge of the Abyss, on Streamline. Merzbow provided the raw material, with Heemann doing the post-processing. Almost a dark ambient release. The second is great fun, Merzbow performing live as a DJ on an ERS release, Live at Radio 100. Hearing the Beach Boys and Louis Armstrong coming through the noise is exhilarating. -- Caleb Deupree cdeupree@erinet.com
