Hi, Im going to New York, for the rest of the month. Any used cds stores recommendations. Or good stores for independent productions or labels. Thanks Simon Calle
Hi, In the event someone replies off-list, I'd really appreciate to be included. I'm also planning a trip to NYC for early October. Thanks in advance. Best, Efrén del Valle --- Simón_Calle <simoncalle@tutopia.com> escribió: > Hi,

of course, the #1 destination of any Z-lister should be Downtown Music Gallery 342 Bowery [between E. 2nd & E. 3rd Streets] http://www.dtmgallery.com/ for new and used. also good are Other Music (4th and Broadway, around the corner from Tower records) http://www.othermusic.com/ for new noisy stuff, electronic, and indie rock. the used selection seems weak Kim's Music & Video (many locations, 6 St. Marks btw 2nd and 3rd is convenient to DMG and OM.) www.kimsvideo.com more noise, improv and indie, again with weak used. by far the best used classical is at Academy Music 18th Street btw. 5th and 6th avenues Includes a good contemporary classical section, halfway decent mainstream jazz, and even a tiny "experimental" jazz section. The whole store is devoted to used discs. For a decent selection of mainstream CDs and a few bucks discounted, go to J & R Music World at Park Row (across from City Hall). I'd love to see what anybody would add to this list - this is my whole routine.
well done on your list dave! i would add the Academy Jazz and Rock outlet, all lps, on 10th street between 3rd and 4th.... and for used (stolen?) cds of all types, Norman's Sound and Vision on third avenue just south of 8th street.... have fun - - robin --- Dave Smey <dsmey@mindspring.com> wrote:
