The best music ever recorded?
Hello again... Some of my friends used to wind me up a lot because very often I would play some music and say "This is one of my fave tracks of all times!"... (But there really are that many that I simply adore... ;-)) Since my record/cd collection is in storage back in Europe, I sometimes ask friends to email me MP3s. Yesterday I received Coltrane's Transitions (the first track), a tune I had been longing to hear again. And (don't laugh!): to me personally, it is one of the best recorded pieces I have ever heard in my life... Every time I hear it I am simply overwhelmed by its power... Was wondering what some of you feel/ think is some of the best music ever put on tape? patRice np: Boulez conducts Varèse: Ionisation nr: Euro 2004 match schedule

I guess we're a huge bunch of records collectors here right? So what's the point of this? I'd like to think that I can can pin point my favourite music ever, but thinking for a bit and considering the marvelous diversity of facinating music that I know (not even starting on the universe of other music that I don't know) I find it to be totally pointless and even insulting to try and come out with anything close to a list of "The best music ever recorded"!!!! Sorry, being a bit grumpy this morning. Olivier Le 04-06-12, à 11:31, skip heller a écrit :

I think the futility of trying is the fun part! But - even a brief cursory list will take more time than I have right now :) ....to be continued.....
