Hi, While it's cool to hear Zorn music in the local cinema, I didn't like the way they used it in this film. It's pretty cliched "horror music". Like, uuuhhh, here comes the scary heavy metal part, dun dun DUNNN!!!! But the funny thing is that one of the pieces they used contains a short surf rock part, which for obvious reasons they had to edit out for the movie! Too bad they did though, it might have had a pretty unusual effect with a bit of Frisell twang in one of those scenes!

As we all know, John Zorn has done a lot of film music throughout his career.
However, recently, I rented one of the best German movies out there, "Funny Games". I had originally seen the film years ago, and was blown away by this movie. After watching it again the other night, they actually used the cut "Bonehead" off of Grand Guinol.
There is one scene where one of the killers is looking for his victim in this huge house. It's great because the killer says to his victim, "I'll put some music on for us." If I was being chased, and if I were to hear my killer put on Grand Guinol, I would realize the end is inevitable.
Just wanted to share with my fellow Zorn listeners. The movie is really good though, and worth a look.
